Firstly, i would like to thank Heather (Reception) for her professionalism and the greeting my family received upon our arrival, she was very helpful in providing us with an extra bedroom for my 77 yr old mother. It was an excellent choice to stay at the PBC, rooms, pool were fantastic,i highly recommend Peppers in Port Douglas. We look forward to returning in the near future

Just returned from our 2nd holiday to Peppers Port Douglas and it was fantastic again. Pool and grounds are beautiful, rooms are spacious and to top it off the staff can't be more helpful. We loved it and so did our two girls. We look forward to returning once more. Highly reccomend.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

Let me start by saying that I am a seasoned traveller and normally, because of the expense of travelling in Australia, I always head to South East Asia. This time I decided to save a little extra with my partner and we organised a trip to Port Douglas for 10 days in Feb 2014. We chose Peppers because of the amazing pool, rooms and location from all our research. I was slightly hesitant because it was rated #19 at the time on tripadvisor and normally I would choose something a little higher...
Let me just say, AMAZING! This resort should be #1. From the rooms, to the location and also the service and fantastic staff, we could barely fault Peppers!

Check-in:
We arrived at 9.20am to the resort and checkin was not until later in the afternoon. Reception noted that I had requested an early checkin however the people occupying our room had not yet checked out. We were fine with this as we were told our luggage would be kept and we were free to enjoy breakfast or just sit by the pool, and we were also offered umbrellas to have a look around town. Our room was ready by 10.30am and we were called on our mobile - PERFECT!

Room:
Deluxe Apartment One Bedroom
Our room was amazing - more than we expected. We wanted easy pool access but couldn't afford swim-up for the 10 night stay and the deluxe one bedroom apartment offered everything we wanted. Beautiful clean kitchen with everything we needed, nice bedroom with comfy bed, decent sized bathroom and nice living room. The only complaints if we HAD to say anything is that the king beds are in fact 2 singles joined together and sometimes we would notice the join and it would be uncomfortable - no big issue though and that the couches in the living room were quite uncomfortable.
Everything was clean and fresh!

Service:
The staff were truly amazing. I wish I had gotten the man's name who took care of the concierge because he went above and beyond and is probably the most friendly, helpful and caring staff member I have come across at any hotel/resort I have ever stayed at. This is not to take away from everyone else who was also wonderful.

Location:
5 min walk (if that) to the main street. Very safe. 3 min walk to the beach.

Pool:
THE BEST! It is exactly like the photos, and they speak for themselves.

Any other complaints:
The spa was slightly overpriced. We had a special with our room rate so we still had some treatments however probably not worth it for the money if you had to pay full price.
Breakfast - no variety and just didn't really like the food. This was also included in our room rate but we wouldn't pay for it if we came back.

Would we come back?
100% YES. South East Asia is off my list and we will be splurging with all our friends later on in the year to come back to Peppers in Port Douglas and we cannot wait!

Dear EmilyD,

Thank you for the fantastic feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I can see from your Senior Contributor status on Trip Advisor that you are a seasoned traveller. We are very proud of our service and product, and are continually working hard to exceed our guest’s expectations; the only way that we can achieve that is through feedback from our guests.

Great to hear that the team were able to get that early check in for you – At this time of year an umbrella is a necessity – If you could drop me a line at portdouglas@peppers.com.au so that we can confirm when you stayed with us, we can confirm the team member from concierge that you mentioned. We would be able to grab your room number as well so that we can inspect the bed in the room, as you shouldn’t be able to feel the join of the zip-bed due to toppers installed.

I have passed on your comments to the spa for their review and I am confident that they would like to gain more detailed feedback – so that we are able to improve the experience.

As mentioned above I would also enjoy chatting to you and learning more about your dislikes on Breakfast – we are currently reviewing the entire Breakfast offering and your feedback would be great.

EmilyD, thank you again for the great feedback and please contact us directly at the resort to organise your next visit as a return Peppers guest.

Kind regards,

Jeremy Nordkamp

Four the final portion of our Australian Tour we were booked into the Peppers Beach Club. The ambiance and atmosphere were very upscale in nature and relaxing. The breakfast buffet was very good. I was thrilled to see that you could enjoy a cappuccino, espresso, or latte with your breakfast.
Unfortunately because of our tour’s activities we did not have the opportunity to enjoy all the amenities offered by the property. We were there for two days; arriving late one night, gone most of the next day, and leaving the following morning. The location does allow you a doable walk into the city center of Port Douglas; we did it twice.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Providing necessary and requested information on services and locations.
The rooms have a very modern decor and are well appointed. They appeared to be well maintained and clean. We did notice that our room which overlooked the lagoon pool was small. In fact it was the smallest room of four we have had on this tour. Probably doesn’t matter in that we were not often in the room; showered and slept only.
One negative I must mention. When we arrived at Peppers there was only one luggage stand in the room. We called the front desk to request a second one. We were told that there was to be only one per room. Heads up: couples traveling tend to have at least one piece of luggage each.
In conclusion I would say that we did enjoy Peppers Beach Club and would stay again if we can endure the 20 plus hours of flight time from the “States.”

Dear TKCRhino,

Thank you for taking the time to post – We love receiving feedback from all – Though receiving 4 stars from a Top Contributor is just fantastic. We would love to find out what it would take to receive a 5 star review.

Wonderful feedback regarding our luggage racks – We are already in the process of sourcing extra for the hotel. We do have some spares, though it seems that they were being used.

Room Tip: We do have one and two bedroom full self-contained apartments are that very large and comfortable.

TKCRhino, thank you again for your post and hopefully you will be able to endure that 20 hour plus flight and come and visit us down under again. We look forward to welcoming you back to Peppers Beach Club and beautiful Port Douglas. Please feel free to contact the resort direct at portdouglas@peppers.com.au to organise your next stay.

From the moment i was dropped off until i said goodbye, Peppers felt like home, albeit with a nicer touch.Extremely friendly and helpful staff were instrumental in making my stay as relaxing as possible. Special kudos to Drew who spent the better part of an afternoon revising the ill conceived itinerary i had planned on my own. After booking flights and arranging shuttle services and hotel accomodations for me, he was instrumental in alleviating any stress that i may have been feeling.
Within a hop, skip and jump from both 4 mile beach and the village, this resort, with its lush surroundings, sandy beachlike swimming pool, attentive and courteous staff, Peppers Beach Resort will always be my home away from home, when visiting Port Douglas.

Came for a late valentines weekend with the girl. Room was very clean, staff friendly and professional. Spa on the balcony of our room was a bonus. Location is quite central easy walk to anything in Port. Dinner in the restaurant was pretty average, the breakfast is definitely better. Would stay again.
