The perfect hotel / property for relaxing. The apartments are excellent and incredibly well priced for what you get. The swimming pool is a amazing and perfect for adults and kids. The food was okay. However the desserts were exceptional.

Room Tip: all rooms are great

Visited this resort for a couple of nights. Firstly the resort itself is a fair distance from the centre of Port Douglas however if you are after privacy and want to enjoy a not so crowded four mile beach this is perfect. Our resort room was extremely comfortable with a huge spa. The room itself if closer to the main pool would have been preferable although the upgrade fee is quite high. The resort pool is fabulous and absolutely stunning. We had breakfast both mornings and it was fresh and worth the price paid. The reception staff are helpful and gave us more than sufficient information regarding local tourist attractions. As we were looking to visit Cape Tribulation they also provided us with personal recommendations which was definitely appreciated as we went with the recommendations given and had an amazing time. The resort although quite pricey is well worth the money spent for the serenity and seclusion offered.

Thank you for the great review of your time at the Resort. We appreciate you taking the time to provide it. We are happy that you enjoyed a tranquil stay.

Our location is approx. 10mins drive from the centre of Port Douglas which does allow us a little more seclusion, you are right.

It's great to hear that our dedicated team passed on their local knowledge to help you explore the beautiful Cape Tribulation. They do have plenty of information to share.

We hope to see you again soon.

What a great Resort. Beautiful pool and so close to the beach. Expensive but very modern rooms. Reception staff very helpful. Dinner at the Resort Restaurant Aqua is a little overpriced but our friendly English waitress Kate made our visit very enjoyable. Fantastic service!!! Thank you.
We will come back again!

Room Tip: Swim out apartment are great!!!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in a one bedroom apartment at this hotel.
On the whole the facilities are good, but the maintenance is lagging, and attention to detail is also missing. As mentioned in some other reviews I have seen, the shower screen in the bathroom leaked water on the floor continuously, and was pretty filthy. The TV wasn't adjusted to the tuner properly so that could only see 80% of the picture, stains on the floor, note pads decorated with (previous tenants?) children's art, and so forth.
The staff were ill informed....It took 3 conversations with room service for them to concede that (probably) the card in the room with "Room Service" on the front did actually mean you could order the food listed inside to be delivered to your room (to their credit the person did own up that at the least it was 'confusing', and provided some consolation). It is still not entirely clear to me if that is the case or not. Perhaps the manager can clarify?

No-one seemed entirely sure how you were supposed to order breakfast in your room, twice we were told we had to phone an order through and the third time we were told absolutely we could not place an order by phone.
Prices for drinks and food were pretty OTT - our pizza looked like it came straight out of a cardboard box from the local supermarket, the butter chicken not that good.
My impression is that a lot of staff were short term, and not really familiar with the hotel.
I'll give it a 3 , but I'm being generous becoz the breakfasts were good, if expensive.
We enjoyed ourselves in the area, but unfortunately in some respects it was despite our experience at the hotel, not because of it.

Room Tip: Avoid - there are better places in the area

Thank you for taking the time to provide your review of your stay at the Resort. We are really disappointed that your stay with us didn't meet your expectations.

Your feedback on our facilities, maintenance and service is greatly appreciated as we use this information to improve our guest's experience at the Resort. Your comments will be shared amongst our team to address the issues that you outlined.

The booklet provided in your room that is labelled Room Service is most definitely the Room Service menu, we apologise that this wasn't further clarified when you phoned our Room Service department.

Upon checkin, a breakfast menu and order form is placed on the bed to allow you to order an in-room breakfast (this is replaced daily during the housekeeping service). Alternatively we are more than happy to take your breakfast order over the phone from the Room Service menu.

We regret that you were unimpressed with the level of service you received and will work on this to ensure our service standards are increased.

We are glad that you enjoyed your time in Port Douglas overall and hope that you will return to the resort to experience a much improved service.

Having just spent 6 nights at this resort, with family including 2 kids we found the resort to be just lovely. Our rooms were ground floor pool access and it was such a nicely furnished apartment. We had the 2 bedroom plus attached studio with spa.
The staff at the resort were all very pleasant and greeted us warmly every day. Breakfast buffet was good. Room service was really slow, we were there at a time the resort was pretty full though.
The only faults that I could find were that the people above us were really incredibly inconsiderately noisy and due to the fact these people were owners the front desk told us they were unable to do anything about this. I can't imagine that anyone else would have this issue though as these sort of people must be rare? ( yes they were that bad) .
The other small problem is that the pool was cold. However it was winter, our temperatures during the day were between 25-30 C. There was a lot of people swimming but we found it too cold for more than a quick dip.
The coffee at the resort was great and the view whilst having breakfast was beautiful.
We also really loved our massages at the spa.
We would come back for sure, just maybe a little earlier to make sure we could utilize the pool more>

We are so glad to hear that you had a relaxing time at the resort - the massages in the Day Spa definitely would have helped with that.

Thank you for providing a review of your family's stay with us.

The view from the AQUA Restaurant out over the lagoon pool during breakfast is a tranquil way to start the day, we agree.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Resort in the future.

Absolutely stunning facilities. We stayed for 3 nights in a pool swim out apartment. Rooms were absolutely incredible, fantastic facilities, bedrooms stunning, bathrooms very clean and roomy and spa in room - stunning pool views and access from room patio. In house Aqua Restaurant lovely and food delicious, and customer service impeccable. Fantastic access to Four Mile Beach which is just a gorgeous stroll. Spa services available - friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be planning another stay here in the future.

Room Tip: Best is to get a pool swimout room - great experience.

Currently day 5 of a week long stay and happy so far. First impressions count and we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. So nice to have refreshing cool towels after a drive. We arrived at 11am and understandably our room wasn't ready however we were offered the use of the ammenities, our luggage was taken care of and they gave us call when the room was ready at 1pm - well ahead of the usual check in time (what a contrast to the Pullman resort in bunker bay!) our two bedroom Vila had its own plunge pool ( handy when the main pool gets busy) and the rooms were spacious and well appointed. The rooms were well serviced and we received the paper daily. The food at aqua was surprisingly nice - and although the service was lovely there was a bit of a wait for the food. The main gripe would be that the main pool does get busy and the lounges do get taken up very early. So far would be happy to come back here the next time we are at port douglas.

We hope that you were as happy with the last few days of your stay as you were with the start! Thank you for your mid-stay review.

When the weather is so nice in Far North Queensland everyone wants to be beside the pool - we all sure do! We are glad that you were able to take full advantage of both the 3000m2 lagoon-style pool in the centre of the resort as well as the private plunge pool in your apartment.

We hope that you do come back to stay with us again next time you are visiting Port Douglas.
