“Amazing Far North Queensland family holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2012

Tania & Damian are amazing hosts & are there to help out when you need them. They have up to date information about the best places for tourists to truly experience the beauty of Port Douglas & surrounding areas. Tropical Nites was all we could ask for in holiday accommodation for our family of 6. The apartment was bright & spacious, comfortable & clean, cooking facilities gr8 inside & out. The pool was gr8 to lounge beside or to cool off from the beautiful tropical weather. We could walk, ride or drive to town for shopping & supplies. The are situated near the walk/bike track that leads to Cook Hwy or into the heart of town or cross the road & just a few minutes away you're at the beach. You could not go past Tropical Nites for a truly memorable family holiday in FNQ. Thanks for the memories, we'll be back to make more in the future!!

Room Tip: All have gr8 access to the pool, we loved unit 14 because we could park undercover near our apartmen...

Back to Tropical Nites for the 3rd year in a row
Great place to stay and Damian & Tania go out of their way to help out
Unfortunatly the weather was terrible this year but we still had a great time
Exellent accomodation at a very reasonable price

Room Tip: If you have a car the rooms down the back give you direct access to the carpark from you're back...

We chose Tropical Nites after finding a review of the place in an old edition of 'The Lonely Planet' and reading reviews on TripAdvisor. For some unexplained reason this superb gem isn't included in the latest Lonely Planet whereas other nearby accomodations are still included! Our 1 bedroomed townhouse was actually a 3 bedroomed townhouse with 2 of the bedrooms locked off.Our townhouse was about the same size as our own house in Cheshire, UK!
Location-the townhouses are a 6 minute walk to the bottleshop and local car hire.A 10 minute walk to 4 mile beach and a 20 minute walk to Macrossan Street.
A Ulysees butterfly often flew past our balcony and settled in the nearby hedge.
The Paslow family are superb and make you very welcome.
We stayed here for 3 weeks, our balcony faced the west and every Tropical Nite was spent enjoying a cool drink and watching the sun set-superb!

Room Tip: Most of the townhouses face north or east. Our No 3 townhouse faced the west for some excellent sunse...

We recently stayed for 9 nights with our young family and it was awesome. The facilities were immaculate, very spacious and comfortable - larger than we expected and great for the family. Hosts Tania and Damian were really friendly and helpful, Tania even provided some toys for our children. They went the extra mile to ensure we felt welcome and that we got the best experience of Port Douglas possible. Tropical Nites is located within an enjoyable walking distance from the town centre (even with a pram) and there is also a handy shuttle bus service into town from nearby. We highly recommend it as a peaceful, family friendly place to stay. Pool is nice too!

We stayed with 2 young children in May and were made to feel so very welcome. We loved the 2 story 3 bedroom villa, which gave us plenty of space for our family to relax and each of the kids had their own bedroom and the prices were fantastic. I loved the private patio we had out the side of villa 5, which was fenced so we had our only little front yard as well. The pool area was lovely and it just felt like we were the only ones around. I walked into town on 3 occasions over our 8 nights so the location was not a problem for us, it only took maybe 15 minutes each way and i can't imagine not wanting to get out and enjoy the lovely sunshine or a walk along the beach. We also had a car which was great for touring around the area.

I have stayed at a few hotels around Port Douglas and would definately stay here again and as i said i can't wait to go back.

Thanks Damian and Tania for looking after us whilst we were there.

We stayed at Tropical Nites for 2 weeks in May. Best Family Holiday we've ever had. Accommodation clean, spacious and everything you need in it, like your second home away from home! Lots of fun in a swimming pool, fantastic weather, Beaches short walk distance! Beautiful town with restaurants, best coffee, great $10 fish and chips lunch, fresh juices for breakfast and lots more - only short walk from Tropical Nites.
Local bus driving to the town often which we took couple of times more just for fun for our 4 year old rather than anything else. Most important all our fantastic trips wouldn't had happen without help of Tania and Damian. We just needed to let them know where we would like to go and they organised everything for us choosing the best weather condition! Just stress free absolutely unforgetable holiday! Thank you! Hope to be back again! Magda and Craig J
