I had some reservations about staying here based on reviews over the years, but fear not... I'm pretty fussy and I had a BRILLIANT time! We stayed here for a long weekend in Sept and it was totally perfect. Very relaxed atmosphere, great mix of people (male & female) and the most endearing host you could imagine. 'Queen Bee' is kind of like the Anna Madrigal of Far North Queensland.
It's not 5 star, but then I probably wouldn't have booked it if it was. What it is though is clean, comfortable, friendly and situated on one of the most stunning beaches in Australia. Secluded, private and very well maintained, this place is the perfect escape for and city dweller in the country. We hired a car for the few days (so we could check out Cairns & Port Douglas) which is probably the most convenient way to see the place. We had plans to see the Daintree as well but dragging yourself away from that beach on a nice sunny day is pretty tough. The Daintree has been there for millions of years, so I'm fairly confident it will still be there the next time we visit - which will hopefully be soon!

Room Tip: It's a little out of the way, so a hire car is very convenient

We revised our travelplans twice during our holiday to spend extra time in Turtle Cove.
Not without a good reason as Turtle Cove is such a relaxed and enjoyable place to stay and explore Tropical Northern Queensland. Port Douglas is quite nearby and also Cairns is only 1 hour away by car.
The place is secluded so don't expect restaurants or bars on walking distance. However the hotel restaurant and bar make sure you are well looked after! The restaurant dinnermenu varies per day where 1x per week there is a pizza night making your own pizza and 1x per week it's BBQ night.

The clothing optional beach starts right in front of the hotel and is very quite. Apart from hotelguests some locals visit the beach as well. Entrance to the beach is only possible via the hotel.

Hotel staff is very (!) friendly and make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We experienced both the sea view rooms as the beachfront rooms.

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms are fantastic!

Dropped in to Turtle Cove for lunch with my partner as a break in the middle of a family holiday. We'd been here before, a decade ago. It's still a very special place and we can't think of anywhere else quite like it. Stunning setting, totally relaxed, very friendly people. Hope we can come back for a longer stay soon.

We had a really nice time at Turtle Cove. The hotel is tucked away on a private beach just outside Port Douglas. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You have everything you need for a fun, relaxing holiday with a nice pool and long stretch of private beach. With the ability to order lunch and dinner at the resort, you didn't have the need to leave the property to find a meal. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms have a great view and you can walk from your patio to the pool and beach.

I just returned from a week at the Turtle Cove Resort and it was wonderful. Bert and his staff - Lee and Ollie were great hosts. The beach was gorgeous and the food and compny at the resort could not have been better. I met some very great people and it was so nice sitting at the communal table at night for dinner sharing laughs and enjoying each others company. Having been to many resorts I can say that that Tutle Cove has all the makings of a great vacation and I hope I can return one day.
