Owner description: The Bally Hooley is an operational steam train in Port Douglas, Queensland. The trains are hauled by our three coal-fired steam locomotives Bundy, Speedy and the new all-star Nelson, built in the early 1950s for the local Sugar Mills. Check out our fabulous new 3-in-1 tour package including a river cruise on Choo Choo Explorer, a trip on the Bally Hooley , as well as lunch at the delightful Choo Choos Cafe at St Crispins Station-fun for the whole family! #ballyhooley

A fantastic little train ride run by some very passionate locals. It only operates on a Sunday but is a great way to get to and from town.

Had a lovely 1 hr return trip - great to show the kids a steam engine. Good experience on the ride, with turntable at each end. Run by volunteers who are fantastic.

I don't mind a train trip and a train that still uses coal to fuel it is rare now. The train was packed with other tourists and plenty of kids. We had to get off at the midpoint so the train engine could turn around to take us back. It was a lovely thing to do after going to the Port Douglas markets in the morning.
