“Lovely Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2013

I spent 5 nights in April 2013 at this boutique hotel. We were in room 29, a 1 bedroom apartment overlooking Grant St. Loved the location as we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to in Port Douglas. Didn't find overlooking the road was too noisy. Kitchen had everything we needed and the lounge dining area was spacious. There is a flat screen tv that can be turned to face the bedroom or lounge. The balcony has a spa and is enclosed by louvres. Bifold door from the lounge to balcony opens this area right up. No flyscreens but didn't find mozzies a problem. Secure parking underneath if you have a car. Reception wasn't constantly manned but didn't find that a problem. The roman style pool is small but you can use the much bigger pool area at the other Mantra Resort close by. The apartment was not serviced daily (which was fine by us!) and we just had to ask for replacement towels, toilet paper etc when we needed them. I found the reception staff very helpful. Good Thai takeaway a couple of doors up the street and a bakery one door down. The Tin Shed is worth visiting for a drink and to soak up the inlet views.

Just brilliant, we've been here a few times now and this time had Suite 20. Mantra Village is right in town and close to shops and restaurants. Our suite had 2 bedrooms each with its own ensuite bathroom and private verandah and close to the pool/bbq area. Spa bath on the balcony and flat panel tv's. Clean and modern and quiet (above a shop that closes at 5pm). Secure underground parking. Reception not staffed all the time is probably the only downside.

Tip. Take a trip to Mossman Gorge which is just amazing. Great food at Watergate, Sassi, Salsa and Finz.

We stayed here as part of a package deal including air fare from Sydney. We had a 2-bedroom suite with a kitchenette, so we saved a lot of money by cooking our breakfasts and a couple of dinners. There's a supermarket and a fine fish market just around the corner and a couple of restaurants right on the block, and you're only a few steps from the main drag with all the bars & restaurants. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose a room on an upper floor above the pool for a little more quiet.

Well located in the heart of Port Douglas. Nice pool. Easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shopping and the marina. Port Douglas was the perfect location to stay for our Daintree river and rainforest adventure. It's an easy drive to Cape Tribulation.

Check in was quick, friendly staff.

Good little rooms and a nice pool on the property. We were booked in here for 2 nights but due to a family emergency had to check out the first night. Tried calling reception, no answer. Tried calling the after hours number, no answer. After trying a few times we gave up and just went home. Had to call the next morning to tell them we had left the room key in the room.

My sister and I stayed at Mantra in the Village in November. We were very worried after reading some of the reviews, Definitely what some people moan about. We had to wait an hour or so for our room, but we knew that, as it states that 2.30pm is arrival time. We then went and had lunch and on return , found a lovely cool apartment awaiting. It was spacious ,comfortable, excellent facilities, all that we needed. No noise. Well done Mantra, we loved our stay!

Room Tip: Close to restaurants, shops, a little walk to the beach, but needed that after all the eateries. Ove...

Me and my wife stayed here for 3 nights after leaving cairns and really enjoyed it.

On arrival we were early and I called the phone in reception to advise we were early and the girl advised rooms were not ready but she would give me a shout when they were which was nice and also gave us an opportunity to see the town.

Staff really nice and helpful - we were allocated a twin room as I didn't realise our booking agent booked this but reception were more than happy to change and we were relocated to a lovely room over the pool.

Rooms nice good size bed, spa in the bedroom along with shampoos etc, twinings tea and nice balcony, there is a good tv with movie and sports channels and air con but also a fan incase you hate air con so a real bonus.

You have to pay $9 per hour for wifi however mantra heritage 100 yards round the corner lets you use the Internet for as long as you like and print also so very handy.

Location is really good right next to shops and cafe's and the Main Street in port Douglas with all the shops and restaurants is a mere 30 yards away!

Parking is free sound travelling from cairns don't worry,

Cheers mantra in the village,

A tip: if you want a gigantic meal free wifi and decent price try pokies around the corner just past Coles- had a steak which was amazing and I could hardly walk after!
