We stayed here for three nights in June and absolutely loved it! From the moment we arrived the owners made us feel so welcome. They were very helpful and accommodating and nothing was too much to ask. Great location, nice clean rooms, overall very happy!

I minute to the shops and one minute to the beach, while being very quiet. Good average accommodation without being at all fancy. Rooms are a reasonable size and kitchen with hotplates and microwave oven. You are at the start of 4 Mile Beach so you can work on your fitness (compacted sand means you can walk, run or ride a bike on this beach). Rooms not serviced and no cable TV. Good hosts who will look after you.

I just would like to telll you that we DO HAVE FOXTEL in all our apartments and is documented in our compendium Oops we didn't read the compendium did you??? We understand because there are better tings to do in Port Douglas than reading a compendium
Once again thank you

My partner and I stayed here for three nights in the middle of May and had the most amazing time. Antonia and Frank were so hospitable and helpful, recommending places for dinner and booking our reef tour. Every recommendation we took off them was fantastic.

It's in the centre of the town so everything is walking distance, which meant we could have a few drinks at dinner and not worry about how we were going to get home.

Another great thing that sold this hotel for us is that it is for couples only, so there were no kids running around and the pool was really private and quiet.

The rooms were cute and Mediterranean themed, and the bed was really comfortable.

We had the best time staying here and would definitely recommend it.

Wow they did it again ,just a fantastic staying there again. The rooms were top notch and the building was very well kept . The pool was slightly heated so a delight to swim in during the slightly cooler mornings. The port was bussing at Carnival time and the hosts we once again most helpful and entertaining. I will be back.

Room Tip: All good but 19 is great

Good points:
Location - 1 min walk to the beach and short stroll up to the main street, perfect if on a short break.
V clean
Friendly owners, willing to help with anything
Special requests all catered for :)

Bad points:
Only one main double bed. There was a great double bed sofa (which we had requested knowing this) and I could see there wasn’t the space to have two singles. So, so long as you or who you are travelling with doesn’t mind being out in the lounge, which we didnt, then it worked nicely.
No lift but Fred happily carried our bags for us so, for us, not actually a bad point!
The sun lounger cushions had seen better days

Overall:
I am usually someone who only stays at 5 star all singing luxurious spa type hotels and I was apprehensive about trying a different type of accommodation but it was so worth the risk. It was just perfect for us and impressed at the thought and care that had gone into the place and how perfect the location was. Thank you.

This is such a lovely little boutique hotel with very friendly owner/managers ,Fred and Antonia. They were both very welcoming, it was as if you were staying in their own home. The Martinique is basically a 'couples only' (no children under 18 allowed) hotel, so it was very quiet and private..you hardly saw or heard other guests. We always seemed to have the pool to ourselves, and the grounds were beautiful with many water features. We were in apartment 14 which is on the third (top) floor, but be aware there are no lifts. We loved this apartment as it fronted the street, so was perfect for 'people watching', and also had many windows so was sunny and bright. The apartments (all one bedroom) have a basic kitchenette with electric cooktop, microwave and small fridge, split system aircon, ceiling fans (lounge and bedroom), LCD TV that swivels so you can watch either in the lounge area or bedroom. The queen size bed was very comfortable and good pressure in the shower. There is also a safe in the wardrobe, free to use. Your apartment will only be serviced if you are staying longer than 7 days (you can pay for daily service), but your towels will be exchanged for clean ones every second day if you take them down to reception, there is also a free laundry onsite. Internet is a once payment of $10 for your entire stay, which I thought was very reasonable. Beach chairs and rain umbrellas are provided for use free of charge. Also have chilled water and an ice machine (all free) in the bbq area. Martinique is a few minutes walk to either the beach or restaurants, but located at the quiet end of Macrossan Street. Fred and Antonia can book all your tours for you and have excellent local knowledge of where to eat. They will even print any documents or your boarding passes, free of charge...now that is service! I would highly recommend staying at the Martinique, we will definitely be returning.
Tip: Every Wednesday afternoon at the Port Douglas Yacht Club, members will invite you to go sailing on their yachts for free. They sail about 4pm, but you must register before hand and availability depends on the number of members sailing (and weather conditions)...so you may miss out, but it is still worth registering. You can find more details on their website.

Room Tip: # 14 corner apartment, plenty of windows so nice and sunny, plus you can 'people watch' too!

I highly recommend staying here, it is the perfect location. The rooms are clean, air conditioned, quiet and within walking distance to everything. The owners, Fred and Antonia are absolutely awesome, nothing is too much trouble. They are friendly and helpful, they make you feel really special. There is no elevator, however there are only a few flights of stairs which is not a problem, but if you don't like stairs ask for the ground floor.

Will stay here again next time I am in Port Douglas

Room Tip: Pick ground floor if you don't like stairs
