“Cockatoo Welcome at Ramada”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2014

Our room was very comfortable, clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. We were disappointed that we couldn't sit outside our room as there were no patios or balconies but we weren't far from the Treetops restaurant area where seating was provided beside the pool. This was also the Wi-fi area. The restaurant and lagoon pool area were pleasant however the exterior of the resort buildings could certainly do with an update. Staff were friendly and helpful. The resort is a long walk from the town centre, there is a shuttle bus but this would be expensive if frequently used. The cockatoo in reception was a great attraction for children!

Well presented resort 5mins drive from Port Douglas. Shuttle service is regular but @ $5 each way cost can mount up. (Tip: buy a 3 or 5 days trip pass, but make sure you can use it on all shuttles!) BBQ night was OK but steak night was V good, great steak & great value for money. Rooms are only serviced weekly (ie not at all on our visit of 6 days) so in the wet everything can get very damp. We enjoyed our stay here, very relaxed and very helpful professional staff.

It was terrible! Staff was not helpful. kitchen is not open late and when we asked where we can get food, they said "nowhere sorry". It was only 9pm. Apart from searching for someone. It's very hard to get a hold of anyone after 9pm. Breakfast was stail and manager was totally rude. Wifi was very difficult to get a hold of and the washer/dryer kept shutting get down. Besides the fact that they even charge a lot for shuttle service. Air conditioning kept shutting off and the place was full of mosquitoes. I will Never go back there again!

Had a perfect holiday at Ramada. Staff fantastic esp. Preetham Mikala Jason Stevie and others at the desk and wonderful service by Stef Jasper Bec Jason Laura Jack and Quinn in the restaurant. Prices reasonable esp daily specials and food beautiful. Room immaculate. Pool sensational. Foxtel was down for part of the holiday which was a little disappointing. Highly recommend a stay at the Ramada. We are planning our return already! Managers please pass on to third staff members the great job they're doing!

We didn't stay at Ramada Resort but my wife and I visited the Day Spa. I must say that it was probably the best massage that I ever had.

My wife had a massage and a facial and she looks and feels fantastic afterwards. Me, I had a deep tissue with a male massage therapist ! He was very attentive and the massage was incredible. I felt like I was floating on air when I finished.

Great value for the money. Definetely worth a visit !!!

I can't not fault this resort at all, excellent from the moment we arrived. From Tim the host greeting us with champagne and cold towels we both agreed we chose the right resort.
The service we received from the restaurant and bar staff was outstanding they were all very warm and welcoming - in particular Dean, Jack, Jason, Stephanie, Jaspa, Monique, Laura and Chris.
We have already planned a 2nd trip as it was sad to leave.
The room and the view of the pool were spectacular with daily room service.
A convenient 5 min walk to the beach a 5 min bus shuttle to the main street.
Once again a very nice resort.

This is a great 4 star place, free WiFi at the pool was really good but would have been really handy in the rooms but alas you need to pay extra. Which for the price (in credits and maintenance) the Wyndham customers pay I think it would be nice. The service was friendly, rooms clean and onsite restaurant was good. Apartments are non serviced which is a little annoying only because you have to ask when/if you run out of tissues, loo paper etc! The gym is basic but good to keep up a little general fitness while you are away.
We were a little concerned about the cockatoo that lives there he was new as their other one died at only 36! His wings had been clipped and having owned cockatoos before they can make dangerous pets (the larger 'greater' ones) as a member of staff found out. I just felt the staff poorly educated in taking care of the animal (which is not at all their fault) and its a bit cruel to have him there unable to fly, he should probably be in a large Avery instead.
Anyhow the resort itself was good and I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Great room, had a two bedroom apartment for four adults and it provided plenty of space and privacy.
