Where else can u go as a tourist and get to go out on a locals sailboat???? We went there on Wednesday night (currently on our honeymoon) it's a bit daunting hoping u will get picked to go out on a boat but we did. Went out with Dave, bob and ken. Such lovely people. We had an amazing night. The meals at the club after were great also. No one was disappointed. A must do when in port douglas !!

“Wednesday night sunset sail”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We went in on a Wednesday night whilst on our honeymoon. We had to sign in for boats at 4pm and boats set sail after 4.30. If it was a case of the Skippers going through the list and picking people to take out that would be ok, but it isn't.
We had a chat to a few skippers and they didn't want to know us. A couple of young girls went up to the same skippers, flirted a little and they got taken out with their friends.
Had we have known it was going to be like that, we would not have wasted our time going there.
It's a good way for the Yacht Club to get some business (obviously we bought a few drinks while we were there as did most people) however to get picked based on how young and pretty you are, not impressive. We had planned on staying for dinner (kitchen opened at 6pm) but we refused to give them anymore business than they deserved.
The atmosphere was nice and relaxing and it would have been a nice place to enjoy the sunset however there are plenty of other equally nice places in Port Douglas.

“Relaxed, peaceful, great value”
Reviewed November 10, 2013 via mobile

We visited the Yacht Club for a relaxing drink. After enjoying our drinks we checked out the dinner menu & were thoroughly impressed.

We decided to stay for dinner & dessert & were pleased we did. The Yacht Club is in a quiet part of Port Douglas overlooking the boats. Our meals were great value & very enjoyable.

Highly recommended for a relaxing dinner.

“Great relaxed atmosphere”
Reviewed November 3, 2013 via mobile

Stopped in here on our first night in Port Douglas after recommendation from our airport bus driver. Lovely relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a couple of beers sitting outside watching the sunset. We shared a seafood basket for dinner as I wasnt too hungry but thwy added a bit more calamari for us to bulk it up. $28 for dinner for two so we weren't complaining at all. The best thing about the place is the friendliness of staff which just adds to the great atmosphere.

“My birthday celebration”

What a gem of a club The staff both in the restaurant and bar were exceptional. We had a party of 27 people who all ordered different meals. The setting is magical and nothing was a problem. Thanks to all who helped me have a great night
