“Fantastic Meal on every occasion”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

I love Spinnakers Restaurant at PDYC. I first ate here in July 2010 when I was living in Port. The setting is beautiful on the water, but don't forget the bug spray the mosquitoes love Tropical FNQ.

The menu is basic but the food is fantastic. I have never had a bad meal. It is the only place in the world I will eat a chicken parmi. Steaks, fish, seafood, chicken parmi and all on the menu with chips and salad or ships and veg. There is also a specials board which is always good. You can't go wrong with Simon's curry. If the Vietnamese spring rolls are on there, they are a winner too. As you can probably guess, I struggle to decide what to eat when I visit Spinnakers as everything is so good.

I was back in Port for a 10 week holiday in November and Spinnakers was the place I ate on the first and last night (and 3 other night in between). The food is great and very reasonably priced. The PDYC is a great location and you can always just pop in for a drink and to enjoy the view. I recommend heading down on a Wednesday for WAGLS where you can go out sailing with the locals and then enjoy a meal with everyone from your boat and meet real locals and other tourists. It is a great night with raffles to support the PDYC, a very enjoyable evening.

“great value, friendly staff, yummy food”
Reviewed March 19, 2012

Our hotel owner recommended this place for its good value and comfortable casual atmosphere, and she was right. It felt more like a place that the locals might go. Great lookout to the marina, open dining under large canopies. Super friendly cook who took our order at the counter. The barramundi was good, the fries were terrific according to our fries connoiseur daughter, and the green curry was also good. Family friendly. Went there twice

“Great family dining”
Reviewed March 10, 2012

We ate here with my parents who are "locals" and said it was good. They were right! We enjoyed a delicious chicken parmigana and calamari and chips as well as a special of the night, chicken curry. All was tasty and well priced. Add to this the location which is second to none on the water and a large grassy area for children to run around and it really is the best child friendly place to eat in Port Douglas!

“Locals favourite”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

One of the remaining 'hidden secrets' in Port Douglas where the locals still go. A great location overlooking the yachts and marina. Spinnakers Restaurant at the PDYC has a pub type menu offering good value and good quality food. It is not over priced and that's why the locals still go there. Matty and his team do a great job in the kitchen. PDYC also has a great little bar and it is a very relaxing spot to sit and watch the sun go down washed down with a coldie or two..
