Description: For a long while Hi Tide Cafe, Bar, Restaurant has been a local's secret, and no wonder because this is as close to a beachfront hideaway as it gets in the middle of Port Douglas. Indeed, if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Macrossan Street and enjoy a home style meal or one of our nightly specials, a cocktail or cool beer with the soft sea breeze the tide will bring you here. Nestled oceanside in the Peninsula Boutique Hotel. Hi Tide looks directly out onto 4 Mile Beach and the Coral Sea. It's cool without being over designed, warm and welcoming without sacrificing a certain sophistication and, well, they have the most amazing cocktail selection.

“Surprisingly Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

We usually don't expect a lot from hotel restaurants, but we were pleasantly surprised by the Hi Tide, the restaurant at the Peninsula's (where we were staying). Good value in terms of portion sizes. My husband's chowder was excellent, as were the seafood spring rolls. My husband also had the prawns, which he enjoyed and the serving size was more than enough. My scallop raviloi was very enjoyable. Despite the portion sizes I had no problem eating the trio of sorbets for dessert. Service was good and attentive.

“Excellent service very nice wait staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

We were looking for a nice place to have brekkie by the ocean. This little place was amazing! The staff were so nice! I was nursing a Chest infection and they brought me some fresh lemon tea with honey. The breakfast was good too. Stunning views of palm trees and ocean

“Good breakfast spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

Location and view make it a nice relaxed breakfast or coffee. Food was nice, not raveable, but nicer than others.

“Average Breakfast”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

Went to Hi Tide recently for breakfast and I must say that for the same price you can get a whole buffett at the Ramada. I can't comment on other meals served here but the breakfast just didn't knock my socks off.... Yes, service is great and view is amazing... I think that impacts the prices more than the actual food.
