Over the years that we have visited Port Douglas I have watched the number of occupied shops in this centre dwindle and with it general facilities decline. It is a shame because if it was fully operating it would be a hive of activity and choice for visitors. There are a number of restaurants and cafes still operating, it is worth going down to have a beer and chips on the deck and watch the boats coming and going. Hopefully things pick up.
