Great location right on the water. Family friendly good friendly service and good food at a reasonable price. Was a bit noisy but was a full house when we had dinner there.

Thank Andrew E

The Tin Shed is just that - a corrugated iron building that doesn't look much from the street, but don't let this fool you.

We decided to have lunch at the Tin Shed on a weekday. Being a club (Port Douglas and District Combined Clubs), we had to sign in at the stand just inside the door. The Club welcomes all visitors. We walked past the bar and then looked at the view - wow! We sat at one of the tables on the covered open-air deck and looked out to the entrance of Dickson Inlet, the mountains beyond, and the Coral Sea! It was very bright out on the deck so we needed our sunglasses!

We ordered our meals at the counter opposite the bar and were given a number to take back to our table. We didn't have long to wait for our food as there weren't a lot of other diners. My partner had the Barramundi listed on the specials board ($19) which was delicious and I had the mixed local Spring Rolls ($14) and a side of fresh seasonal vegetables - lovely light lunch. The standard of the food is a bit better than most clubs but is not fine dining.

We went back for a late lunch on another day and arrived just before 2.30pm when lunch finishes. The kitchen staff had started packing up so we had to go elsewhere. Next time we'll arrive by 2pm!

Recommended.

We thought the position is great but the service & food was poor,
Some staff did not like the busy time of school holidays, but that is there bread & butter???

Had a lovely meal here and Mal went above and beyond by giving us newbies to Port Douglas lots of great info on where to go and what to do! We had a really fun night here and the views were stunning!
