“Best Reef Experience”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

This trip to the outer reef was amazing. We have been to the reef a few times before with other companies, but have never seen coral or fish in such quantities or of such high quality. Our group of ten ranged from six to over forty years old and we all had a wonderful day. The staff were very attentive, knowledgable and friendly and helped all of us to gain as much as possible from the trip. Although others may be a little cheaper, the chance to snorkel at three different sites in a day made this extremely good value. We were perhaps lucky with the weather and very calm sea conditions, but cannot fault the service we received. Highly recommended, and we will be back!

“great trip”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

this company was recommended to us and by a friend and by the staff at our resort in Port Douglas.

from the pick up at our resort to the end of the day, everthing was well organised. Staff were friendly and informative. and the boat and facilites were clean and up to date.

the trip starts at about 8.30, on boarding we were offered tea, coffee, fresh muffins etc.
then as the boat was departing, we were given a briefing about safety on board, where we were going and snorking. (there was a seperate briefing for divers) the briefings we well organised and useful. then we were given our masks, flippers and stiner suits (all included inthe price) and given an oppertunity to check that they all worked/fitted correctly.

then off to the first site. we were given about 30/45 mins here to snorkel at our leisure. prior to getting off the boat we were told what we would expect to see and where and told of the booundries whilst snorkeling. the whole time we were watched by staff on the boat and there were staff in the water to help with any diffuclites.

we then re-boarded and were given a small talk on the marine life and the reef in general. then headed to the second site. the set up was the same as the first, but the are we snorkeled in was varied from the first and at this site we saw a shark! it was gone so quickly but we managed to catch a glimpse.

during the second site, we were told lunch was ready and we could come back on board when we wanted to eat. food was lovely, it was a buffet with salads, pasta, seafood. and seconds were allowed :).

after lunch was the final dive. this one was the best. we were given a snorkel tour by staff who pointed out several things and even took up certain items to show us up close. it was really nice to be told what you are looking at as often you miss what it staring you right in the face.

all in all the tour was great. throughout there was an under water camera man taking photos and at points would bring you things (i had a sea cucumber) to hold so you could get a photo taken with them, at the end yo ucould look at the photos and buy if you wanted. a nice keepsake :)

my big advice would be check with staff or your resort staff as to which day is best to go, they know when they weather is best to go out, if you pick the wrong day it wouldnt be fun. also, if you get motion sickness at all take a pill before you go.... people on here have complained that they got sick.... its an ocean, the staff have no control over how rough the it is.... finally bring lots of water and sun screen!

“Wonderful experience!”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

I can not recommend this experience enough! I like the fact that this is a locally owned family business and that the numbers on the boat were not too many. We found the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, professional and very helpful. As soon as you arrive at the boat you are greeted by having your picture taken and then are served morning tea of tea/coffee, muffins, and biscuits. You are then divided into two groups of snorkelers and divers with each group getting a briefing of the day ahead and fitted with appropriate equipment. The boat stops at three dive/snorkel locations giving you an hour at each one. In that hour you will see the most amazing marine life...a variety of tropical fish, an abundance of coral and all in beautiful colours. If you don't have an underwater camera, you are able to hire one on the boat which is what we did. At the end of the trip they will give you a disc with all of the pictures that you have taken. Lunch is included in the cost of the trip and they put on a wonderful spread. They also provide trays of fresh fruit after the dives and afternoon tea on the trip home. Overall we were very impressed with the tour as a whole and can't fault them on anything. This is definitely an experience not to be missed. HOWEVER, I must warn you that if you are prone to seasickness that you purchase some travel sickness tablets prior to the trip and take them 30 minutes BEFORE boarding the boat and then every few hours throughout the day. I should have taken an additional dose at our third dive but didn't and because of rough waters on our trip home I became very nauseous. But don't let this deter you from going...it is simply an awesome experience!

“Trip of a lifetime!”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

We took this tour and were lucky to have a beautiful sunny calm day. We arrived on the boat and were plied with home made muffins and hot drinks for breakfast. We were snorkelling so gathered on the top deck for a briefing. We were kitted out with stinger suits, flippers and snorkels. The team were very helpful with those members of the party who were not used to snorkelling or were terrified!! We also had platters of fruit between dives. We stopped at three different areas of the Reef and were given precise instructions about where we could go and the crew members were in the water with us to help out. We hired an underwater camera and took lots of pictures some of which you can see below. It was well worth the cost to have the wonderful memories captured. There was also an photographer who got into the water with the party and took pictures of you if you wanted but we didn't bother as we had our own camera. The lunch was lovely, prawns, meat and lots of salad and bread rolls. My one regret is that I was not brave enough to take off my snorkel and swim down to examine coral and take pictures. We had a tour with one of the staff and she kindly swam down and took the picture of Nemo hiding in the tentacles in the picture below. We also had a talk on the boat about the reef and could ask questions. There The crew were all very helpful and lined up at the end of the trip and waved us off. Highly recommended.

“Beautiful diving but a wee bit frantic.....”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

I had three fantastic dives on my day trip with these guys. They were really organized and professional and provided all the information needed to manage every aspect of the trip (from seasickness to safety stops). But the day went by at a dizzying pace. The only time I didn't feel rushed was when I was underwater and then on the way home. I don't think doing two dives instead of three would have been less frantic either. We got back into port at 4pm. I would have preferred to get back at 5 and slow things down a bit! The crew were GREAT and the diving fantastic, but I might go with a live-aboard next time.
