I wasn't very impressed when having arrived at our accomodation in Port Douglas we were advised by this operator the tour we had booked was not available as they had sold one of thier vehicles. As we were only in Port Douglas to do this & one other activity & had booked a month or so before, it was pretty annoying. At least a call to my mobile number a day or so before would have allowed me to weigh up our options. Luckily we had a bit of extra time & the people at the Queenslander were great so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
It was a pleasant afternoon drifting in a fresh stream on a hot afternoon, but to be honest I don't get the rave reviews. We saw a couple of tortoises, fish & an eel. For someone who would like a drive out of town & a relaxing swim in a crocodile free stream, go for it, but if you have a car & snorkel available & are to be staying in Cairns, I would suggest Babinda kayaks ( about an hour south of Cairns) as a cheaper alternative. The bloke there puts you into the stream, you paddle downstream for about 3 hours & he picks you up. Lots of nice swimming spots along the way.
