I had the 5 course set menu. It was very filling and I loved all the different tastes and textures.the oysters could have been a little larger. Staff were friendly and helpful.

While this was a lovely restaurant with great service, I'm not convinced they have thought through the consistency of the experience they are giving. There's a suprise and delight moment at the beginning with a complimentary taste of a cold roll but for mains my husband had the duck curry $38 and then had to order a side of rice which was $6 extra. That to me just irritates when of course you are going to want rice with your curry. I had the fried chicken. It was nice but too greasy for the price you pay, you expect the grease to be minimal. A little disappointing.
Service was fantastic, a nice little touch with a chocolate square with the coffee but again, irritating to find out there's a surcharge on using a credit card to pay. Not Amex surcharge, credit card surcharge which just annoys you in a place where thousands of international tourists would pass through.
I think Tamarind needs to really think through the customer experience and remove those irritations because it's a very pricey restaurant for what you get compared to other places.

Although the food was tasty enough, it was rather expensive for what you got. Toast and cereal for $20 odd dollars? Disappointed. Lunch and dinner maybe a different story, but breakfast leaves a lot to be desired.

A great recommendation when we booked into the Cairns Reef Hotel. No idea what to expect but we were lucky enough to get a table. I'm gluten free so often I don't get the really great food. However this dining experience was brilliant, the food was amazing. The tea smoked King fish and the duck curry were delicious.

We took the degustation menu with matching wines which exceeded our expectation. Others had different dishes which looked great and we wished we could have come back for another dinner but didn't have time. We were able to use our Accor card which had given us some great dining experiences- value for money as we had our annual free night in the Reef Casino Hotel that night.

It was such a great dining experience in this marvellous region city in Far North Queensland.
