We stayed here for our honeymoon, in both a 1-bed apt. and a harbor-view studio. The hotel is clean enough although very sterile as some other reviewers have noted. Modern interior design, both in lobby and rooms. No dresser or drawer storage in either room, just the closet with some built-in shelves, which had spilled coffee on it when we first checked in. Our room didn't receive any service one day so we weren't sure if we would get any, but they came the next day and freshened up. Friendly staff, super location. A short walking distance to everything at the main boardwalk - tons of shopping, food, cafes, bars, etc. The 1-bed was quite spacious, with a large living room/kitchen area and street view corner balcony. The studio is quite small (but much less pricey) but it had a harbor view. Parking available at attached garage structure at about $10/day.

Make no mistake, these are luxury apartments in a great location. I had a one bedroom apartment which had a large living area with a huge plasma TV and a small kitchen with all the mod cons needed (washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, etc). There is also a balcony and great views from the 11th floor. In the bedroom there is also a small TV and the bed was very comfortable.
The only negative was that the living room blinds are white and therefore in the early morning a lot of light streams into the living room and through the frosted glass sliding door from the living room into the bedroom.

The actual hotel was great. Lovely staff, fabulous location, rooms were as described on the web site. Rooms werent 100% safe for little kids as the knives draw was at ankle level. Darker curtains need to be installed to block out more light in the morning. Pool area felt a little like a high security prison with lots of card swipe locked gates and steel bars to go through and past. Very quiet and didnt hear any other guests. Room service was only every 3 days

Quite a happy surprise this hotel was..

Right on the seafront, next to the pier where the boats for the Great Barrier Reef depart.

Extremely big rooms, with all the usual conforts etc.

Steps away from the Esplanade (the main walking street in Cairns)

Two thumbs up

We were looking forward to our stay here given the positive reviews we had read. However, the place lacks soul. The staff, although efficient, lacked warmth. It's north Queesland, they work in the tourist industry - lighten up, be bright and breezy - but there was no welcome, no 'enjoy your stay' - just business. Yes, the room had a nice view but the room was underwhelming. The furniture looked cheap and small given the size of the living space. The bedroom was more appealing. The worse thing was they allow smoking on the balconies and the fella below us smoked on his balcony constantly and the smell was always in our room - we woke up to it in the mornings... Although we wanted to have the doors open to the view and 'fresh' air we needed to close up the room and put the air conditioner on which was so noisy. We ended up checking out two nights early and headed up the beaches north of Cairns, which we really enjoyed.

This is a relatively new building so some design aspects were disappointing. The location of the microwave and the cutlery drawers within child-reach, is of serious concern.. Also for me, the light white blinds were not condusive to sleeping. The staff were pleasant and acknowledged the problems but said there was nothing they could do at this stage. The location is good, quiet but within walking distance to restaurants, supermarket , theatre and markets. As well, most of the Reef excursions leave from just around the corner. The night markets are an experience. Also the produce markets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are worth a visit.
