Just seemed a bit weird to have all these animals indoors. Felt like the worst kind of zoo- so little space.. not recommended

We were given a discount of $3 from entry and advised that's few areas were under construction...We actually found most of it under construction and very few exhibits open and no croc feeding that day. The children didn't want to stay long as the metal grinding noise was hurting their ears. You can return for the next 4 days on the same ticket but we were not inclined to. Hopefully it will be better when they ave finished construction. Kids enjoyed seeing the koalas.

A little expensive if you don't go everyday. It is a mutiple entry ticket but can only be used by the same person all the time. My daughter took her 4 year old but wanted his granpa to take him the next time so she could rest but that was not possible.

We visited the Wildlife Dome while in Cairns, and were disappointed that after paying AUS$19 to get in, there was practically no exhibit that was not under construction. When the dome will be finished, it will probably be a pretty nice place to visit, but $19 is still a pretty hefty fee to pay for a place that can be visited in less than an hour.

Despite these inconveniences there was a number of nice things about the dome. The most impressive exhibit is the saltwater crocodile. This animal is gigantic, and it is really impressive that they have been able to transport and keep this reptile at the top of a casino! The dome is also primarily an aviary, and there are lots of lorikeets, cockatoos, kookaburras flying around freely. There is also a number of nice repitle exhibits, a koala and lovely vegetation. Every two hours or so there is a guided tour here the animal keepers talk about the animals. But be watchful - we wanted to see the bird feeding tour, and the animals keeper arrived and just started feeding, and didn't even ask if there was anyone around that wanted to accompany him on his feeding rounds. So make sure if you see an animal keeper, to go ask him if he is doing a show. Once he started talking, he was enthusiastic and entertaining.

I would recommend going to this place only after the constructions are done.

The dome was being rebuilt right in the middle of the tourist season. We still got charged the full price which was over priced in the first place. They should had dropped the price while under construction. certainly would not reconmend this attraction.
