We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The rooms are a decent size, clean and feel nice and open. The free WiFi worked well for us but this is probably because our room was above the reception. The TV was a flat screen and also had a good selection of Austar (cable) TV channels. The only down side was that our room was facing the street so it was a bit noisy, but nothing that was dreadful as Cairns is not that busy at night anyway. The restaurant has a decent menu and the pool looked nice.
I've read mixed reviews about how far the hotel is from the city centre so thought I would clarify this by actually timing the walk. To walk from the hotel to the Cairns Shopping Centre (which I think is the centre of Cairns) took just over 9 minutes. I'm an average 24 year old and this time included waiting at all the lights to cross. I really cannot understand people who have said it takes 30 minutes, going to the harbour would be maximum of 15 minutes.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. I would stay at this hotel again no doubt.More
