“Ho hum”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

We took the later departure which got us to the island just before lunch, and gave us time to do the glass bottom boat and the submarine trips, before departure at 4pm. We paid for the buffet lunch on board the Big Cat, but frankly it was not pleasant. The range of food was limited, tho fresh. It was vey crowded. The seating area is not really suitable for mass dining. Better to get food at one of the outlets on the island which are open while tourists are there. When booking you are offered a choice of snorkelling or glass bottom boat. If you chose snorkelling be warned. The tide can go out. We watched snorkellers making their way back to shore over what was now dry land, over rocks, wearing flippers. Not easy. The submarine went a way out from the wharf, and we did see live coral, and schools of fish. Not so for the glass bottom. Just a lot of sea grass and dead staghorn branches. All a bit no hum at $265 AUD for two.

wasn't too bad however crossing was a tad rough, maybe could have given out ginger tablets before setting off. Think more information could have been given before departing or maybe a bit longer on the island would have been better

“Beautiful small coral fridged island”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Only an hours ferry from cairns this island had great snorkelling and was covered with rainforest.

You can walk round it in 45 mins. it is set up for tourists, toilets, cafes and even a small pool in the interior and a boardwalk to a zoo with crocs. Pay extra for the Zoo.

Its got a long sandy beach and is fairly shallow so good for snorkelling/kids to see the fish. Coral is not amazing though.

The glass bottom boat gave you a good view of bigger fish and they do a fish feeding to guarentee some big fish.

We also saw turtles, stingrays and in the distance whilst sitting on the beach we saw whales jumping out of the water!

Take sunscreen, water, lunch and your own snorkel if you want to make it a cheap day and don;t go when it's windy.

“Great tour”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Green Island is the place to be if you want to just relax and get a tan. Water was nice and warm. Few turtles will come and swim alot side you. If you walk on the east side a lot more stuff to see , but beware there is no lifeguard on that side.

“Green Island Adventure”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Loved all of it - the trip there on the boat, the "village" shopping set up, the beach and swimming facilities. We chose glass bottom boat over snorkelling and it was great. Highly recommend
