Our small group experienced a full, fun day busing it north to Daintree, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation and Mossman Gorge under Wylie, whose wry humor and running commentary kept us smiling. This was trekking, not luxury touring, with a hearty picnic lunch at the beach (mind the huge goanna that hangs around there snatching lunches), a river cruise with an expert guide who can spot baby crocs that hide in muddy water, and a stop for homemade ice cream (overpriced, but delicious) in native fruit flavors. All in all, a great combination for a day in the tropics. Wylie was very mindful of the time so that we could spend more time swmming in and seeing the gorge.
