This is a very we'll run hostel in cairns. They have a lot of backpacker places there and I'm not disappointed in choosing this one. There is full kitchen and the place is really clean. The staff is awsome and they are happy to book any trip or excursion you want. They are top notch and very pleasant. Also has a little pool to cool off in after you walk back from the esplanade.

Booked a double room for after our long flight and were therefore looking for a quieter less party hostel. The room was nice, basic but good. Not ensuite but had a sink, small fridge, bedside tables. A few toilets and showers scattered around different areas. Well stocked kitchen. Outside seating area. There was a good social aspect here organised by hostel staff. Unfortunately for us there were pre-drinks and games along from our room going on after the designated quiet time and some of the staff were pretty loud. After all it's a hostel. We were just hoping for a quiet one! Great location into the main areas and across the road from a shopping centre.

We stayed in Travellers Oasis for three nights. From the moment we arrived we were made extremely welcome and looked after! Helen in particular was so helpful-she helped us out booking tours, organising little things, and even let us use the amenities on our day of checkout as our onward bus journey was late in the evening.

This hostel is clean, laid back, and friendly. Air con is $1 for three hours which we thought was well worth it. Free tea and coffee and free wifi were bonus!

I would definitely book this hostel again.

Stayed here whilst in Cairns - nice and straight forward to reach from the Greyhound if that's how you are arriving (10min walk) - pick ups can be arranged. About 15min walk from the esplanade and the lagoon and 5mins from the main shopping centre and supermarket.

We had a double room for the stay which included a fridge which was handy. Springs in the mattress tended to ping when you lay on it - think a new one was needed - but none the less it was very comfortable. Shame that you had to pay for air conditioning though! $1 for 3hours.

Staff friendly and helpful - showing you around when you check in is a nice touch. Free tea and coffee - always a bonus. Communal areas very clean, was just concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchens and utensils. Luckily though we weren't using them but I'm not sure how compliant some people are with the washing up rule.

Quiet location. Chilled atmosphere. Very homely. Have stayed in better places in Oz but was still a great hostel.

This was my first hostel stay EVER - and I'm so glad I did it with Traveller's Oasis! Everything was as nice as possible - the staff was super friendly on check-in, they gave you lots of options for Reef tours, a good map and explained where everything was...
there are 2 kitchens (use the one in the back to cook though, the burners on the ones nearest the pool take forever to heat up).
They kept everything very clean, (I was really worried about the showers, but they cleaned them multiple times a day and I didn't feel gross at all).
People are good about cleaning up after themselves when they cook, and the staff comes through pretty regularly as well so it never feels icky.
The rooms were kept nice as well - there's only an air ceiling fan (ours was a bit noisy when you put it on high, but it was adequate to keep us cool in the 4 person dorm).
Laundry facilities seemed pretty good as well, although I didn't use them. and there was plenty of space for people to hang out, eat at large tables (by the grill?!) and the swimming pool.

directly behind the largest shopping mall in cairns, which has a grocery store, a Target and a food court and about a 15 minute walk from the city center.
Would definitely recommend this over a place like Gilligans which looked like Cancun on steriods. Great atmosphere, great staff and the folks who came in and out were all pretty chill. Felt very homey. Would definitely stay here again!
