When I stayed here, they decided to do maintenance on the gate that is the only access for vehicles in and out. All Access out of the resort was blocked by Car. We were locked it. People were yelling, swearing because they couldn't leave with the Vehicles. Not a very family friendly environment. I had to walk through the Lobby, call a taxi and leave my vehicle locked inside. The On Site Manager blamed the body corporate, the Body Corporate blamed the on site manager and all the guests inside were the ones that lost out. No compensation was offered. If you want a peaceful holiday stay as far away from the Lakes Cairns Resort as you can.

Before I start units are individually owned and not all are rented through the management and reception, but it all starts with a first impression.
The reception, arrogant, lazy are just 2 that come to mind, the woman didn't even get out of her chair to talk, the guy had no manners whatsoever and I wasn't even in his conversation he was talking to an older couple and just did not want to help them.
The room full of cockroaches had to spray. the cutlery, plates, cups etc I had to wash there was a full size dishwasher which made it easier but I should not have to do it.
Very tired and need a make over, the roo I had was original and some owners are putting in new furniture sadly not mine. It would of been very impressive in its day,
The facilities, well the sauna dosent work the gym is closed till further notice there is a tennis court and the pools look great but I paid for all facilities not a run down place.
Unfortunately many permanent people have 2 cars when they are allocated 1 space or simply too lazy to go up the extra steps to get to the unit. there is lots of visitors car parks but a lot of people park on the roads across foot paths and just wrong. The management do nothing about it. In the allocated car parks there are lots of signs advising the car park is in use so it is an ongoing issue.
Glass / no smoking in pool signs every where but people do not take notice and just do what they want The management take no responsibility for the actions of the guests, it would be hard to police but im sure they could try.
Noise issues the voices/ screaming kids echo through the place nothing any body can do about it but at midnight it is a problem.
The restaurant The Edge bar an grill went in one night and no other customers and wondered if I should stay, too tired to go anywhere I looked over the menu - not cheap but I can say the food was very good I had lamb cutlets baked potato and salad, sadly the vegetable were extra $9 so gave them a miss . I was happy with it but the only desert was vanilla ice cream. To my understanding the place was closed for a while and just re opened so getting back on their feet.
I would go to the restaurant again but would not stay here.I have read other reviews and they must have the wrong place as no body could describe staff helpful or quiet a quiet relaxing place.

Room tip: upper floor less midges and mosquitos, all noisy and some very dark and most no flow through ventilation.

Our apartment was clean, tidy and well appointed. Check in was easy and tbe reception staff were very friendly and knowledgeable when it came to organising trips and car hire. We had a great stay the only bad thing was the weather!!!! Thanks Lale Resort.

The place is beautiful, we booked through air b n b for 5 nights. There are plenty of well light pools which you can use in the evening and the reception staff are kind and helpful. The location is quiet however about 20-25 mins walk to the nearest row of local conveniences or around 40-50 walk into the centre of cairns along the sea front, which is pleasant viewing but expect to get sweaty! There are some restaurants on site but they close at around 7:30 mid week

We stayed in 2 bedroom self contained apartment which was good quality and spacious. Full size fridge, good cooking facilities inc oven, note they are self contained so cooking utensils and cuttlery are provided but you need to provide everything else (inc toilet paper, garbage bags, pool towels etc..)

Resort featured several different swimming pools which we all enjoyed and the onsite restaurant was good value with a decent menu while the food itself was nice (7/10).

Close to the main road that runs through Cairns so only ever a short car trip to anywhere. Good value for a family and for such a large room, perhaps one of the benefits of the off season rates.

Only negatives, No wi-fi (and very poor phone reception), we were on 3nd story so a couple of flights of stairs to walk up and down which aren't a real issue but a bit of a chore with all the luggage and a weeks groceries and rubbish. Also no recycling option for waste.
