We travelled around Australia back in 2007. i was young and this is one of the only hotels/villas I can remember, the villa was absolutely outstandingly perfect, we had our own conservatory. I loved this villa so much becasue it was so quiet and relaxing, it was perfect for kids and grown-ups with a lengths pool and a relaxing pool which was like a back garden to us as we had a ground floor villa for 6 of us. the only slight negative about this villa is that i wouldnt want to stay here for longer than a week with kids ans it can get quite boring. Definitely would love to go there again when im older.

Room Tip: ground floor villas are exeptional

A fantastic family holiday location.
Pools are spectacular and the nice well established outdoor gardens and surrounds.
Only issue was all BBQs had been removed for maintenance - however after a visit to reception this was corrected promptly

We were looking for a place for the kids to have fun and to relax. We found it here. The apartment was extremely homely and had everything we needed. The resort itself was fantastic and very tidy. The swimming area was superb and this is where we spent most of our time. The only time we really saw resort staff was when we checked in, after that we didn't see anyone until we checked out. Our apartment block did not have an elevator which wasn't an issue, however it isn't openly advertised that apartments have stairs, so older travellers may want to request an apartment on the ground floor. Travellers should also note that many of the apartments are privately owned or rented, so as well as tourist there are many locals who stay here. The onsite restaurant had some great deals on, we had the $10 Sunday Pizza which is definitely value for money. The resort is located approx 10 mins drive from the Esplanade but there are plenty of food outlets etc in walking distance. We are already planning our next trip back, and taking friends!!!

Room Tip: Older travellers or those who find it hard walking stairs should request a ground floor apartment.

When I booked this hotel, I was a little bit hesitant after I saw bad reviews on the net. But I give it a go and completely satisfied with this hotel. We have 2 bedroom apt, clean nice n tidy. Spacious bedroom, spacious apartment with big balcony. The have a couple pools that you can choose. All nice clean with blue water. Concierge always attended with nice n friendly staff. Food also good just a little bit expensive. After all this is a big resort but well taken care of. I am happy with the service and the room. However we could use extra air conditioner on the living room, since it seems struggling to keep the room cool during summer. It's a bit far from city, but taxi only cost us around 14$ or you can use shuttle bus as well. This resort make me feel like at home relax n happy.

After reading the reviews, I was happy for us to make up our own minds as I had stayed here last October for a week and loved it!! We have had a fantastic week here and will be sad to leave tomorrow! As for the people who have written there are NO elevators...let us tell you there are 2 x blocks with elevators and we are in room 1322 and have elevator service! The reception staff were very helpful and when we arrived and had a room on the third floor with NO elevator they were very accommodating in moving us to another room! The kids loved the pools, we used the BBQ machine and there were lots of them working! Last time we had room 605 and would prefer that one but we have had no problems here: air cons all working good, fans all quiet and we brought our own DVD player! We are using our internet off our phone and there is NO problem with reception for either Optus or Telstra here. We have no problem walking the 3km to town and have done so 3 x times this week...but then we like walking!! We love having the IGA store out the back gate and the restaurant serves the best Fruit tingle cocktails...according to the son!! We will be happy to recommend this place to our friends. i have checked with the management and they will be keeping 50 to 60 units for tourist accommodation, so we are happy to hear that!

Room Tip: We like room 605 and now we have found the elevators: room 1322 is good too!

The girls wanted to come back for a day/nite outin and enjoy the pools as a break from work. We had to be in cairns early that day to pick up Tafe things, so we asked for an early check in which we were told was ok as we had stayed here a few times in the past...... Now check in is 2pm and after f..k.n us around most of the day, we got a call at (1.35pm) that the room was ready. After driving around cairns for 5-6 hrs doing nothing but wastin fuel we finally picked up the keys at 1.53pm. The heat in cairns that was 36c-humidity 85%..... l feel we didnt ask for much, it was just to get out of the heat knowing what cairns is like. l wont be back.

The entire resort is a little run down... Not bad but the Internet pictures are misleading. Overall though it is family friendly, but not value for money. The restaurant although pricey serves good food. The in house store expensive. The air cons struggled to keep our unit and rooms cool, and if you go in summer take a good insect repellant as the place attracts lots of sand flies. Also the kids games room was closed, as was the gym. The resort needs upkeep. Nice gardens and lots of pools to choose from... Although we travel to cairns often we will not be going back to the lakes.

Room Tip: Ground floor is the pick. No lifts.
