$8.50 for fish and chips sounds like a great bargain...there is a reason for that price! The chips are oven chips, flavourless and boring. The 'fish' was a small piece of batter with what looked like white mushy paste inside! Curry sauce was a jelly consistency and the mushy peas were very dry and bland.
The waitress Catherine was very friendly and polite, however the woman who I assume was the manger spoke to her so rudely in front of us that we felt very awkward to be there, hardly how customers should be made to feel?!
In addition the table we sat at was dirty and when Catherine bought our food out, the other woman followed her out practically apologising about the state of the peas and gravy...if you know it's that bad, perhaps change what you're serving!
All in all I would never eat here again. The sign above the counter claims to be 'best fish and chips in Cairns!' Do not be fooled by this. This is the first bad review I've written but it is truly deserved!
