This merits a visit if you can tear yourself away from the Great barrier reef. It covers a lot of acreage and has very pleasant walks and an award winning welcome center building. The cafe is outside so those seeking AC relief from the very, very humid temperatures will be sadly disappointed. The garden is a bit outside the main drag so a taxi will be necessary and it is sometimes difficult to find one for the return trip.

I think the title pretty well sums it up. We loved that this attraction was free (Australia can get very expensive for Americans given the current exchange rate) and the gardens very very pretty. It was shaded, which was nice given the summer heat, and the layout was complicated but pretty.

Probably don't need to plan three hours for this, but for 90 minutes or so you'll be happy you went.

Did not have long enough here. The Heliconia flowers were amazing. Some not seen before. The plant beds have been well designed and the variey is brilliant. Lovely cafe in the midst of the foliage. I need to visit again

Highly recommend a stroll through the botanical gardens with beautiful plants and many butterflies....but go to a restaurant elsewhere. Poor service and expensive prices served by people who you could tell would prefer to not be working there.
