Having visited Lizard Island 16 years ago and writing a review in April this year about how magical it was we booked our flight to the tip of Cape York with Greg and his boys again. Flew out on 31 July and yep, again a very memorable day. Our pilot this time was a youngster named Martin (we call him a youngster because Greg is a little older now - just like us) who was very obliging in tilting the plane to the left or right for our photo shoots and giving us very informative narrative as we were flying up to the tip. After landing in Bamaga we were told by one of the guides that he was the only pilot who did not smoke the wheels on landing and indeed it was a very smooth landing. We then transferred to our guide named Jeremy in our 4 wheel drive bus to the tip. He would have to be one of the best tour guides we have had thus far on this trip. Lovely lunch and a short walk to the tip where we had the appropriate photographs taken - just to say we had been there. If you can't drive up yourself - take a flight with Daintree you certainly won't regret it. It's a big day out but worth every dollar. When you consider that others are charging $200 to fly over the reef for 10 mins or so, we got to fly the reef for a couple of hours had a lovely lunch, a 4 wheel drive tour and got to stand on the very northernmost tip of Australia. Great day again guys - thank you. We will certainly be back again!
