“The Bolders, Josephine Falls, and The Tablelands”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

These are all beautiful drives and short distances from Cairns and surrounding areas. The Bolders and Josephine Falls are great places to swim in fresh water and are both very scenic. The Tablelands is a beautiful drive for a day trip. If you do not take the train/skyrail, you can drive through Kuranda on your way back to Cairns.

“Possibly the best day of the week”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Could have spent an entire day at The Bolders just outside of Babinda South of Cairns. Surrounded by lush rainforest, the Babinda Boulders is a popular swimming hole and tourist attraction. It is a classic example of the fast flowing tropical creeks in the area that are perfect for afternoon dips in the cool water to combat the tropical heat. We could have spent the day there just swimming, exploring and enjoying the views of the majestic bolders as crystal clear water flows over them.

“Tablelands are lovely, that Spanish castle is a ruin!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

The Atherton Tablelands is a fantastic drive with loads of waterfalls and rainforest pockets to explore. Dont waste our time with Paronella Park.. It is an old concrete ruin and time much better spent at a coffee farm or dairy. If you are from UK/Europe you will laugh at this "castle". See Milla Milla falls, Malanda falls (do the loop walk) and the curtain fig. Do the Lake Barrine walk and find rainforest dragons. Yungaburra is great for a bite to eat (Nicks restaurant). Staying overnight do a animal spitlighting tour and wake up with a hot air balloon ride. Try a rainforest cabin/ B&B such as Mt Quincan, Rose Gums or Fur n Feathers for an overnight stay.

“Beautiful Views, Fantastic location”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

A drive to the waterfalls and the Tablelands is a MUST when visiting Cairns. The views are amazing and the waterfalls are a fantastic place to cool down. There are so many tourist things to do that you simply cant pack it all in to just one day.
