Owner description: Alongside Cairns is a magnificent tidal estuary that is rarely seen, except by fishermen. Only accessible by boat, M.V. Crocodile Explorer is a comfortable, air-conditioned vessel taking small numbers of visitors along Trinity Inlet on this scenic nature cruise. With waterways winding through a 300 square kilometre maze of mangroves, expect rich diverse wildlife, stunning scenery and a relaxing cruise with informative commentary from our crew. This is the saltwater crocodile’s natural habitat – with a chance to spot them basking on the muddy banks particularly in the cooler months. Cairns Harbour Cruises depart daily at 11.00am and 1.30pm for a 2 hour cruise. We also offer an evening cruise departing at 5.30pm daily.Picture yourself drinking sparkling wine while watching the tropical sunset from Trinity Inlet. A sunset cruise aboard the MV Crocodile Explorer sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. As our friendly crew greet you on board you will be offered a welcome drink to enjoy on deck prior to departure. The Sunset Cruise allows passengers to soak in beautiful views of the waterways, mangroves and mountains in the magical early evening sun. The 90 minute cruise includes a sparkling wine, standard beer, wine or soft drink and savoury nibbles on arrival.

A 1.5 hour "must" if you are in Cairns. Take the cruise that takes place at sunset, and not only experience the beauty of Cairns harbour, but also see the fruit bats going home to roost.

Dear Achim,

Thank you so much for the wonderful review .

I'm presuming you travelled with us sometime ago ? This product has changed since, although we still offer a relaxing 2 hour harbour cruise , we no longer visit the crocodile farm with a bus tour. We still do our best to spot crocodiles within their natural habitat (This is more common during the cooler months).

Thanks once again for taking the time to write in and hopefully we can show you our new Harbour Cruise when back in Cairns again next time.

Regards,

Chris Koscielny
Sales Manager

For a quiet cruiise: take the sunset harbour cruise! Directly at start you get all kinds of drinkes/nibbits. Very cosy. First you get an impression of the harbouw of Cairns - the old shipyard and the marinebase - with good ecplanations, later on the ship goes into the river were you get an impression of the real manfgroves trees. Very fascinating. If you are lucky you will see crocs/birds and so on. The trip is very quiet. You will then return to the harbour and after another 30 minutes or so come to the qay. Well worth!

Inexpensive way to get out of the city and do something different for a night. My partner and I really enjoyed it.
