Owner description: Alongside Cairns is a magnificent tidal estuary that is rarely seen, except by fishermen. Only accessible by boat, M.V. Crocodile Explorer is a comfortable, air-conditioned vessel taking small numbers of visitors along Trinity Inlet on this scenic nature cruise. With waterways winding through a 300 square kilometre maze of mangroves, expect rich diverse wildlife, stunning scenery and a relaxing cruise with informative commentary from our crew. This is the saltwater crocodile’s natural habitat – with a chance to spot them basking on the muddy banks particularly in the cooler months. Cairns Harbour Cruises depart daily at 11.00am and 1.30pm for a 2 hour cruise. We also offer an evening cruise departing at 5.30pm daily.Picture yourself drinking sparkling wine while watching the tropical sunset from Trinity Inlet. A sunset cruise aboard the MV Crocodile Explorer sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. As our friendly crew greet you on board you will be offered a welcome drink to enjoy on deck prior to departure. The Sunset Cruise allows passengers to soak in beautiful views of the waterways, mangroves and mountains in the magical early evening sun. The 90 minute cruise includes a sparkling wine, standard beer, wine or soft drink and savoury nibbles on arrival.

“Nice afternoon cruise”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Great scenery, live croc's on the mud banks, and a great ecology and biology lesson. Also, lots of birds including a Hornbill! Wonderful views of the city and a brief history of the city as a port.

“Relaxation”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Harbour cruise up into the inlet. Keep eye open for the odd but occasional rare crocs. They were on their holidays when we went. Relaxing cruise with complimentary tea, coffee and snacks. Light snacks and cold drinks were available to purchase on board. Commentary throughout. Easy pleasant way to pass a few hours either in morning or afternoon.

“Now called Cairns Harbour Cruise”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

This tour is now called Cairns Harbour Cruises as there is no longer the option to visit the Crocodile farm. A 1.5 hour cruise down the inlet of cairns learing about the early history of Cairns and spotting wildlife, whilst sitting back enjoying a coffee or tea. Combine it with lunch at Dundees.

“Great two hour harbour cruise”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed this calm water harbour cruise. Morning tea was very good with fresh fruit and cakes. The commentaries by both the skipper on the harbour and the naturalist about the environment were very informative. Due to the high tide it was hard to spot crocodiles but we did see one in one of the creeks we visited. The vessel is very comfrortable with two airconditioned cabins and three outside veiwing areas.
