“Fabulous Day!”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

Had a fabulous day with Kathy!
She was very informative, being local
as well as respectful and attentive to my 6 month pregnancy needs

we picked the tour so we could do the rainforest and cape tribulation
i didnt want to settle just for the rainforest (closer to cairns) and i want to see the rainforest meet the reef at the beach

did cable crossing there while we did river cruise and saw a crocodile
we were in the vehicle for the cable crossing of the river on the way back

rainforest walk was neat- didnt go through any canopies on the ground
glad we went with such an informative guide

got to hand feed kangaroos
felt a little petting zoo-ish though- but when won't it

lunch was BBQ- steak, sausages or fish
salads- pasta, potato
no dessert- that came later
water- or buy a drink

kathy kept everyone on time, so we could make the ice cream stop
it was was amazing - still thinking about it

creek dip was refreshing
and got to taste variety of local fruits

wish we had a little longer 15 more mins at cape tribulation beach
but couldnt go in the water anyways b/c of jelly fish
but it was certaintly beautiful to just relax there

plenty of bathrm stops along the way

vehicle was clean, neat looking
she was a great driver

audio was a little hard to hear- but she turned it up for us

was a little pricey for what you got
but having to not drive on the other side of the road for us, for so long and windy was a relief- so guess worth the value of it

“Great facilities, great food and a great guide made for an excellent day”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

Although the idea of an 11 hour tour (including pick up) wasnt all that inspiring, my wife and I had a fantastic day thanks to the passion and tour guiding capabilities of Phin. He ensured that his part of the world was showcased in the best possible way. Included was a beautiful BBQ lunch and a fun daintree river cruise. We really did start looking at the foresf in a whole different way. The Billy tea was great to. Thanks guys

“Absolutely Fantastic way to see the Daintree Rainforest”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

After reading the reviews below, I don't have alot more to add as this experience was near perfect. The area is breathtakingly beautiful (that's a given) and in theory, yes, you could hire a car and see each of these places yourself, but you'd be missing out, as what makes Billy Tea's tours special is the guides. Ours (Matthew) seemed to know absolutely everything there was to know, had answers to everyone's questions and had great stores to tell along the way and about each individual location we visited.

All in our group thought the day was laid out perfectly - the longer rides in the van were fine because of Matt's great commentary and the fantastic coastline, and each stop offered something special that we were eager to do. All of the locations were lovely, and we especially appreciated Matthew's tips before arriving at each place. (i.e. "for this next location, you will only need your towel and camera" or "this will be the last place with clean bathrooms for abot 90 minutes").

Overall, great experience - definitely one of the best tours anyone in our group had done in Australia. I certainly will be reccommending it to anyone else that may be visiting Cairns, and wouldn't hesitate to do another tour with Billy Tea in any of their other locations.

Thanks for a great time!

Thank you also for spreading the word around about our tours. It helps us out immensly as word of mouth is the best form of advertising.

“Good guide, informative tour!”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

We took a day tour (Daintree and Cape Tribulation tour). Our tour guide was Phin, a smiley guy who was truely passionate about his job. He was talking throughout the trip, when driving and when leading us on walks. We never had a boring moment around with him. He introduced us to all the interesting rainforest trees, bushes and demonstrated how billy tea is done!

The scenary at Cape Tribulation is really beautiful. The river cruise at Daintree was also interesting, trying to spot crocodiles, snakes. Lunch was pretty good and of good value too.

Overall, this is a value for money trip, and a wonderful guide like Phin made it worth all the while. Thumbs up and great job!

“Long but enjoyable day”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Really enjoyable day out with Billy Tea Safaris. The guides make this trip so great, as they are so enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

The day started early with pick ups in Cairns before we headed up to the Daintree for a boat cruise down the river, crocodile spotting on the way. We were lucky enough to see a few laying around. Next was a brief stop at the Alexandra Range lookout with views out to sea and then on to the rainforest. Here we took a short walk which was great, with the guides pointing out interesting trees and nuts etc.

Lunch was next, at a little wildlife centre, which housed a few critters and is also a rehabilitation centre for kangaroos. Seeing and feeding my first kangaroos was a great moment. Lunch was BBQ meat, salad and potatoes, plenty to go around.

We then had a stop at a little creek for swimming and a demonstration of the Billy can and the chance to sample several exotic fruits. It was the little touches like this that makes the tour so individual.

Finally we stopped at Cape Tribulation beach, which is beautiful. We had a quick wander up to the lookout point before it was time to head home.

This is a long, full day trip with a good amount of time spent driving, so if this isn't for you, perhaps another trip would be better. For me, the trip just felt a little rushed, in that it was half an hour here, 15 minutes there etc. Not the fault of the company at all, I appreciate it has to be that way to cram so many sights into the day. If I had more time, I would have preferred to stay up at the Cape and visit a few places from there.

Yes it is a shame it is so far away and we have to try and fit so much in for the day. It is only a condensed version of what is up in that great area to see and do.
