First time stayer, very impressed. Rooms clean and airy with great views. Easy to walk to Queens Street Mall and also restaurants on the River. Easy directions to/from airport. Too cool to swim but pool looks good, gym was great. Convenience of 7/11 downstairs, plus grog shop and cafe. Much cheaper than staying in an uptown hotel but just as convenient.

I've stayed at Oxygen twice now. Both times for work and I have found it to be a great home away from home for me in Brisbane. It's right in the city (5 mins to city centre and the Eagle St Pier complex). First time I stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was spacious & comfortable and second time was in a two bedroom apartment which was BIG for a short term rental apartment. Full kitchen facilities and full size fridge. Big gym downstairs with loads of equipment and a sauna. There's also a pool, however it was winter so I didn't try.

When I checked out, the manager Kelvin told me that Oxygen is now under new management and he seemed really friendly and eager to ensure I had a good stay. I'll definitely stay here each time I need to be up there, worth a try if you're looking to stay in Brissy city.

Paid 200 dollars for 1 night in a sky aprtment. What a place when we checked in we got a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom top floor double height apartment. It was amazing, well decorated, large and well apointed. It looked out over the hills with amazing views. My only complaint was that I was only staying for 1 night. What a place.

Apartments have upsides and significant downsides, as noted below.

We stayed with three kids-teenagers for several nights. The complex has spacious big bedrooms with (from our apartment) view of northern suburbs. There is a long lap pool and gym, the apartments are very new, our unit had large living areas with good finishes large full kitchen, pleasant veranda, endless bathroome, good security. The downside from our perspective was uninspiring grey jail entrance, broken inaccessible (high ceiling) lights, availability of more pillows would be nice, from ouyr top floor we had constant roaring from machinery (plant room?) above. The latter was particularly a problem in upstairs bath room. There were a number of unfortunate design oddities such as you cant open shower door fully, main bed curtains are not full length, and there is no curtain on one window. Reception was helpful but there was no (previously booked) extra bed for first two nights

Oxygen Apartments is basically a new residential apartment complex that must have run into some difficulty when they were trying to sell all their apartments. It seems that for some reasons the owners decided to see if they could turn part of the complex into short stay apartments. This means that the building and set up is really not designed for business travellers e.g. no 24 hour reception, no dining or room service, no servicing of the rooms every day (only when you leave), no tissues or other amenities in the bathroom apart from a bar of soap. That said, there is undercover secure parking, the girls at reception were very friendly and helpful and the apartments themselves are very spacious, have cable TV, air con, iron and board and broaband Internet. Furnishings are pretty sparse and functional but quite modern. As for clenliness, well it wasn't too bad but wasn't spotless or done with a great deal of care and attention to detail. The location is on Spring Hill which means a trek up from the city and also there isn't anywhere close by to get something to substantial to eat. There is a cafe downstairs for breakfast.

I would say it's a good place to saty if you have a car, want somewhere that is well priced and you don't go in with the expectations that you are staying in a hotel.

Probably best for families rather then for business, but then again it is much cheaper then most other hotels in Brisbane.

  • Liked — Big spacious apartment.
  • Disliked — Lack of amenities.
