Lovely B&B close to River, 10mins walk downhill to Eagle St Pier where the free ferry, City Cat Kookaburra Queen and lots of casual and fine dining to choose from. Geof our host was humorous, attentive, informative and not the least bit intrusive. My cousin and I stayed in Room 4 as a twin with a separate private bathroom just across the hallway which has a night light. The rooms are decorated immaculately, lovely bedding, sheets and good pillows. Towels are thick and luxurious and bathrobes supplied in your private bathroom along with a small wardrobe with hangers. Toiletries and hairdryer supplied, so you dont need to bring a thing. The breakfast was efficient with large choices served continental buffet style including cereals, toast, fruits, juices and coffees. Geof cooks up superb pancakes as well as eggs of your choosing made to order. All served in a tropical outdoor/indoor area at the back of property with good seating, lounge area with TV, ceiling fans for those hot days.....One thing to keep it mind this is a old timber building of period style with lots of original features....not a hotel at all.....the noise does carry so light sleepers bring ear plugs...also a narrow stair case quite long down to garden room, could be hard for elderly folk who have issues with stairs....otherwise its a glorious place and I shall return with my husband for a city break. Just park the car free and use public transport or walk....loved it !!

We stayed for two nights while attending a couple of concerts at QPAC. The house is located in a surprisingly quiet neighbourhood just next to the CBD. If you don't mind Brisbane' s hills, you can walk to all the main sights in the city. The location is brilliant.

The house is heritage, and beautifully renovated. Our room was a good size, with fourteen foot ceilings. It had a ceiling fan and air conditioner. The bed was large and comfortable. Sound insulation isn't great because of the age of the building. If you are into late night room parties, you won't be welcome here.

Breakfast was very tasty, served in a lovely indoor/outdoor lounge. In all, a very good place to stay in Brisbane.

Very welcoming place, nothing too much trouble - really felt like a home away from home. The breakfast was first class and the atmosphere relaxed, which is a great way to start your day - fast and FREE wifi as well. Thanks to Geof and the team - I'll be back!

Geof was an excellent host. We stayed 3 nights. We arrived at 2AM. The key was waiting for is in the lock box. The breakfast was awesome, the room, #3 on the main floor, was clean and quite comfortable and the Wifi was working well.Overall a great experience and we highly recommend the place.
Thank you Geof.

Well this was a real find could not ask for a nicer place to stay.
Jeff was a great host very attentive and could not do enough for you.
We stayed in the two bedroom suite upstairs with a view of the Story Bridge the rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
It was a great change from big impesonable hotel , Jeff knew everyone's name at breakfast in the morning.
The location was perfect to get around ( we don't mind walking ) we thought everywhere we wanted to go was easy to get to.
I would highly recommend One Thornbury
Do yourself a favour and give this lovely bed and breakfast a go, and you will love breakfast
