“Loved this unit.”
Reviewed June 26, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

It is difficult to find two bedroom units this close to South Bank. This is a perfect unit for a family or extended family. A ground floor unit with a private grassed area. The unit was very roomy with everything supplied that we could need. Loved the position in front of the Brisbane River and a very short walk to South Bank. We would have liked to book this unit for another stay but unfortunately it was already booked.

“Disappointed”

When you pay over $360 a night for a property, you have expect to get what you paid for. We were left disappointed with this South Bank property.
Privately owned and operated, we never laid eyes on management, and to be honest I am wondering if the property has seen them much either.
We purposely chose this venue over our usual haunt, for the proximity to South Bank, the double garage and two bedrooms advertised. We soon realised with all the owners bits and pieces in the garage, our two vehicles (one requiring access to a baby seat) was not going to work and we had to resort to using a visitor car park for our second car.
We also soon realised that the second bedroom, with floor to ceiling windows covered in the thinnest of sheer fabrics, was completely unusable due to the sun rising directly on your face. This was a huge issue given we had paid over $360 a night for this two bedroom apartment so our toddler had his own room and now our toddler was stuck in the walk in wardrobe in our room. Conseqently waking at every sound. Unacceptable. When I sent a request though to the owner for assistance, I was ignored. Something of a trend I can assure you.
With excellent appointments to the kitchen, and absolutely no instructions as to how to use anything at all, we were left floundering. There is no information, no compendium, nothing to tell you where the advertised property ammenties are... nadda, and you soon get sick of calling the owner (when he answers) on your mobile. Even getting wifi access codes were a pain. Another phone call, another 'Im not sure, hang on' discussion.
For the record, the children's playground, also advertised, doesn't exist, and the jacuzzi bath advertised (our toddler is a bath kid) is also not in the apartment...showers only.
Speaking of showers, ensuite; turn water on...go and make coffee, you MAY have hot water when you come back. Main bathroom is only slightly better.
The sheets on the kingsize bed felt like they exfoliated as you moved, and itched like hell, and the one and only king size doona was thick enough for snow country.
You cannot use the tv during most of the day as the sun shines directly onto it and you can't see the picture. An issue if you are traveling with kids.
Close to busy roads, this property is noisy. However on garbage day, the bins are all collected from next to the main bedroom, so it's EXTREMELY noisy.
The icing on the cake was the keylock door to the main bedroom. Not uncommon in a holiday rental (we have had one of our own, so it's standard practice if you have two bedrooms and only rent out one bedroom) however, the door can be accidently locked and pulled or blown shut and being a proper entry lock, you need a key or a locksmith to get in. So when the inevitable occured and the door was pulled shut, we realised we had no key. After several attempts to contact owner, he finally returned my call and didn't think he had a key. Then in the next call thought he might be able to put his shoulder into it and break in (solid doors, not likely) then he finally offered to come possibly come and look at it (he was over an hour away). We explained without a key we would need a locksmith which he said we would have to pay for, and when I pointed out that he should have provided us with a key. I was given a very snarly ''yeah righto, sure whatever ' by one very cross owner.
We spent our morning trying to sort this out, only to have the owner (who hadn't even left to attend the issue) finally ring back from the RSL (Anzac day) with a brain wave that there was information about the property and maybe even keys at the back of a small cupboard - evidently left there from the previous owner. Problem solved, day blown.
The outdoor area is lovely for kids and adults alike, and some very kind residents showed us how to use access keys and swipes and where to locate things. It's just a shame more thought and attention to detail has not been provided by the owner.
I would not stay here again, and certainly with the draw backs experienced and the owners short tempered responses - when he does respond, I wouldn't recommend this property.
South Bank however, was fabulous.
