“Nice sea food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

We had one of the platters for two - the Mezze Platter. The octopus and white bait were both good. Otherwise it was pretty standard basic Greek food at a reasonable price. We ordered Greek coffee and a desert to share. The coffee came out well before the desert which meant either drink the coffee and wait for the desert ( back the front for me) or drink the coffee cold.

“HEAVEN IS A SHARE PLATTER & A MYTHOS BEER”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2013

In the main street of West End, you can't miss the patriotic Greek blue and white check table cloths. Ouzeri has that "buzz" of the street typical of the area, but if you want to sit back a little and view it from a "safe distance" then relax, there are tables with a view inside too. Highly recommend you get a share plate or two (depending on the size of your party) and you'll get a feast of good stuff including dolmades, souvlaki and whitebait. It's good value considering what you get.Order up an icy Mythos beer and you're laughing.

“Fantastic food and good service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

I have eaten here twice now and my mouth waters at the thought of the food. Both times we have ordered 4 or 5 different share plates and we have loved the food. Also both times Nathaniel served us. He is outstanding. Very pleasant natured and so helpful with the menu. I credit him with making our experience at Ouzeri as good as it could be. However when I first looked at the restaurant I nearly gave it a miss because it looked less interesting than the restaurants around it. At that time four of us were eating and we ended up choosing Ouzeri because we saw the quality of the food at the other diners tables. The food is very good value for money. Unfortunately I live a 10 hour drive away from here otherwise I would be a very regular diner.

“Long Wait for Lazily Prepared meals”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

We were seated in a small table off to the side of the restaurant with full view of the kitchen, and with not enough room to actually get into the seats without much difficulty, due to them 'being booked'. However during our entire time plenty of tables remained free with no reserved signs on them. I ordered a lasagne from the Specials menu and was told that they had run out...odd because half way through I noticed a whole tray of it sitting in the fridge not being served...I can only assume they wanted us to buy more expensive items, as at the end of the meal the waitress was VERY PUSHY about us getting coffee and dessert. The meals took a staggering FIFTY MINUTES to arrive at the table, whilst we could see other people who had arrived after us receive their meals before us. I strongly believe if you do have such a long wait time you should inform the customers before seating them. Some of our meals included a greek side salad, but this was dumped onto one small plate and put into the middle of the table to be shared between everyone....if we had wanted shared meals we would have asked for it. My partner ordered the barramundi, which was very small for the $30 asking price and was swimming in lemon juice. I ordered the chicken breast which was overcooked, dry and tough. It was described as being 'sprinkled' with pepper but it was absolutley covered in it. Extremely over-priced, it felt like they were only after money with no good value meal or service in return. Would never recommend anyone to go here.
