Most asian restaurants in the Sunnybank area (about 14km south of Brisbane CBD) are unique and offer good value for money. The Sunnybank Oriental offers not just great value and a fantastic range of dishes, but a genuine oriental atmosphere and feel as part of your dining experience.
With their different menus -- regular meals, breakfast, and afternoon tea --- you get to experience different dishes if you visit the restaurant at different times of the day. This is also one of the few places in Brisbane that offers dishes in genuine hongkong chinese style together with equally genuine-tasting beverages (eg, HK tea with milk).
The restaurant is located just outside one of the shopping centre entrances to Sunnybank Plaza, near the Sunny Bakery and Commonwealth Bank. Across from the restaurant is one of the shopping centre carparks and the Ding Hao asian grocery shop.
Previously this was a cash only business however now I believe they accept visa/mastercard payment for bills AUD$20 and over. Note this restaurant is especially busy on weekends during lunch and dinner. Also, while you get table service during regular meal times, for breakfast and other times you need to walk up to the bar counter to place your order. Another plus point for this business is that it has its own amenities area, unlike most of the other eating spots which share central amenities.
All in all, you get great food and an authentic east asian atmosphere at Sunnybank Oriental. Definately recommended and will frequently visit.
