Hubby chose this restaurant when I suggested a few who do degustation menus. I was hoping for another so was not as excited about his choice. I have since eaten my words!
We partook in a 7 course meal and at around 110 per person, I have to say that it was very reasonable for what we received.
Highlights - the tasting platter with berries, seeds, variations of meats
Possum and pork belly pie - yes please..I would eat this everyday, it was amazingly great
The fusion of flavours and the pairings of dishes were really something special
Presentation is wonderful
Staff were very attentive and personable, even having a few jokes with us
Lowlights - the atmosphere is positively uninviting, I just didnt like the setup of the restaurant and the toilet area - could be made far nicer
Tips - when booking ask for inside seating - as there was a freezing cold corridor of a lean-to that had plastic sheeting up as wind protection. To go to the toilet, you needed to walk through this and almost into the kitchen.
The food was amazing - really enjoyable, really different, and every mouthful was a taste sensation - which had everyone oohing an aaahing.
If you want to impress, you will do well to come here - just make the place look less temporary please!!
Will go time and again, because the food was brillliant and they apparently change their menu seasonally four times a year. Book us in, we will be regulars!
