Not our first experience to a tappenyaki in fact one of our favorite meals so decided to choose this highly reccomended one in the Stamford plaza hotel for my daughters hen night. In summary food was good service was crap. First of all we were told we could not buy separate drinks and that it had to all be on one bill! This was no good to us being a large party of girls we had already agreed to pay one bill for the food but drinks was too hard to sort. They agreed for us to queue at reception give our name and pay separately. Great we thought but it wasn't that simple the queue was long they mixed up the drinks and to be honest everyone got fed up so couldn't be bothered and on top of that they stopped us ordering half an hour before we were expected to leave! Oh well the hotel/restaurant lost out here because if they had put on a waiter service they could of sold a lot more drinks, their loss!!! Now for their big mistake there was a full table of people made up of 14 of our group and several of another and two hot plate stations. Two hot plate stations so why was there only one chef cooking on both the hot plates for two different groups. This was very annoying as we had to wait ages for our meal while we sat and watched him cook for the other groups. Also three of the ladies in our group had to eat with the other group which was never explained to us. To finish it off they were trying to hurry us out for the next people but had they of had two chefs we would of been out an hour before. This is not a cheap meal out and yes I know you pay for the entertainment too but surely at these prices we should get our own chef and not have to share him. The food was good apart from spicy rice but they really do need to provide bigger and better covers for peoples clothes as my trousers were ruined from a raw egg. I know its expected to have food tossed at you but every other one i have been to give you a large material cloak big enough to cover all of your clothes. So seeing as they took around $1000 from our group in total including drinks it was not good value for money!

Everything about the visit was great. Food, price, service, friendly informal environment and hardly a wait with the right planning.

Always a good experience. Great atmosphere and good fun. Be prepared to wear some food! Food always cooked in front of you and it is a good show of skills. One does feel like there is no clemency or let up in the turn around of dishes. They just keep coming and coming.

Had a meal here recently, something different to experience when dining.
The teppanyaki was fresh and enjoyed the fact I could watch my meal being cooked in front me.
Though I found it a little salty, couldn't drink enough water to quench my thirst.
Staff were professional as you would expect from the Stamford plaza.

Dined here on a Saturday night as we were staying at the Stamford Plaza. Was able to get in without a reservation because we wanted al a carte rather than teppanyaki.

Our entrees and mains were impressive but dessert was dissapointing. We had rare beef and chicken yakatori for entree, a small sushi platter and chicken teriyaki for main and chocolate fondue and strawberries for dessert. The chocolate fondue was not hot and smooth but cold, lumpy and almost set.

It got a little bit loud during the teppanyaki sessions but this is to be expected. Although we were not sitting at the teppanyaki station, it did provide something interesting to watch.

As long as you don't mind a little noise, I's recommend it for above average Japanese
