“Fantastic!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

With the huge array of resteraunts in Fortitude Valley / New Farm, it is very rare for me to eat somewhere twice.

Every time I go, I always get the sherpa chicken. It's fantastic!

My only con would be that it can get a little noisy.

“Want a delicious experience?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

Himalayan Cafe is far and above the most reasonably priced, authentic Tibetan/Himalayan food experience in Brisbane. From the delicious light and airy breads and dipping sauce, to the flavourful but not overpowering curries, the Himalayan Cafe offers fresh and healthy food in an authentic atmosphere. If you want something a bit different, book into the back toom where the red shag carpet awaits. My favourite by far.

“Great concept but very noisy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012 via mobile

I'm sure the food here is traditional however perhaps I'm not a fan of the bland food.. Ambience is great out the back the whole restaurant would be nice if it were a little quieter.
It appears more of a novelty this restaurant I was not overly impressed by the food very average portions and taste.

“BEST ON BRUNSWICK”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

New Farm has some great restaurants, but the best of the best is, in my opinion, the Himalayan Cafe. I can only endorse what many other reviewers have written about this charming BYO establishment. The food is wonderfully fresh and authentic, the prices reasonable and the Buddhist ambience quite unique (at least in this part of the world). It is ALWAYS full of happy customers, so make sure you book, and if you want a cozy conversation as well as delicious food, ask for a table in the back room, away from the cacophony of the main part of the restaurant. We had a celebratory dinner there last night, and the three of us enjoyed the wonderfully light and addictive bread and dipping sauce, a large platter of mixed meat entrees, the most flavoursome Sherpa chicken, exquisitely prepared garlic prawns, jasmin rice cooked to perfection, and to finish off a perfect meal, a selection of icecream confections made on the premises. The Himalayan Ginger Bliss icecream is truly out of this world - that alone would keep me coming back to this culinary Nirvana. For a special night out, you can't do better than the Himalayan Cafe. Go there ASAP - but remember to book in advance!
