“Too noisy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

It was just too noisy in here to hear my friends. The food was really lovely and we had a lovely evening.

“Uninspiring”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

Went there today for lunch with my wife as she had heard good things about the place. Had to wait outside to get seated. I found the Decore and ambience as appealing as the old brick wall you look at. The wooden chair was uncomfortable to sit in. The $12 glass of Shiraz I ordered was nice however the amount served was minmal. My wife enjoyed her chicken but my lamb was slightly undercooked and barley warm enough to eat. Certainly left me unfulfilled. Not somewhere I would return for lunch any time soon.

“Always reliable but pick your time!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

Mainly go here for breakfast - early is best - can sit outside in the sun, before the queue forms (& all ambience disappears). Noisy inside, so not good for couples, but great for small groups. Staff generally good, but some of them are cyclothymic. Coffee is uniformly good. One of my favourites!

“Mainly for young people”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

Read about it on thje web and thought it would be worth a visit, unfortunately it was during peak time and was crowded with young people who all appeared to be enjoying themselves and good on them. The premises appears to be a converted shop and is very unique for West End diners. Worth a visit and the food was good.

“Breakfast, lunch and dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

I'm a Brisbane local and this is one of my favourite places to eat. Gunshop Cafe is renowned for its breakfast menu - and the offerings are really good - but I actually prefer going for lunch or dinner. Weekend breakfasts are busy and you can't book for breakfast so the queue for a table is often very long (this is a really popular place), whereas lunch and dinner doesn't attract as much of a crowd.

Gunshop Cafe has a great vibe - its fresh and fun. It's very welcoming and the back courtyard is a great place to settle in with a glass of wine and while away the afternoon or evening.

The dishes are well crafted, with interesting but complementary flavours. There are sometimes seemingly strange combinations (my most recent lunch was scallops, pork belly and lychee Asian salad) but they just work. The produce is fresh, prepared carefully, plated beautifully, and taste amazing! What I also like is that the menu changes regularly (we go there quite a bit) and they always have great specials on offer. Brilliant!
