This is only an okay bar and restaraunt. It was full at the time with British rugby fan but in the past have only found it to be average quality

We made the mistake of going for lunch after an obvious big night before. It was smelly inside and the staff were sluggish. We were sitting outside but once the smokers arrived it became impossible to sit there. Being divided by only a strip of cord does not stop smoke drifting across and at the time I was not aware that the metal chairs meant smoking... a lesson learnt. We had already ordered so we moved inside even though it was a lovely sunny day.

Big mistake.... oh my goodness it was dark and stank of old stale beer. I would have been happy to just cancel our order and go home hungry but my husband was happy to stick it out. Anyway the food was not too bad, typical pub food. Certainly won't rush back unless it is to join the night time revelers :-)

If you find yourself in central Brisbane and want a reasonable priced meal and a good range of drinks this is not a bad choice. It is divided into a bar area and eating area although you can eat in the bar area on an order yourself basis. The good thing about the menu is you can have the traditional Irish meals for around the $15 mark but if you want a big steak you can get it but at double the base meal price. Like all Aussie eating places there is no compulsory 20% tax called a "gratuity" to deal with and even a modest extra to staff is genuinely appreciated.

We had lunch here with some friends in June and it was a good, family-friendly pub (kids menu, high chair, colouring in for the kids).

Service was prompt and friendly. Food was pretty average - the pork belly was cooked well but had no crispy crackling and the chips on the side were nice but a small portion so we ended up ordering a side of wedges as well. Irish stew and chicken caesar wrap were of normal pub food standard.

We returned for dinner the same weekend as the weather was awful and it was close by - saving us from wandering around in the rain. This time we had an entree of garlic bread, which was dry and not very garlicky, as well as chilli & lemon squid, which was beutifully cooked and really delicious. The mains were a little disappointing - eye filet steak was not very good quality and so charred on the outside the whole thing tasted burned (ordered medium). The rib eye on the bone was ordered medium rare, but came out more rare sitting in a pool of blood that made all the chips soggy. Sides of chips, corn and coleslaw were good, but again, not really enough there.

Good pub, nice atmosphere but the food is hit and miss.
