We found this little restaurant earlier this year, in Brisbane's trendy West End area when celebrating my son's 23rd birthday, and have returned a few times since. We all gave it the thumbs up, great food, service good, nice atmosphere and decor - their original restaurant was on the same block but flooded out in Jan 2011, they're now on the corner of Melbourne & Browning Sts. They have an early bird special between 5pm and 6pm on Fri, Sat and Sunday nights, from memory the curries are half price.

It was fairly quiet when we had lunch here as we were running pretty late and most of the mid-day diners had moved on. The service was good - the wait staff friendly and helpful. The choice was a bit limited - presumably because it was the lunchtime menu (the evening menu looked much more extensive). It is a bigger resaurant now (the fire prompting a move to bigger premises) and the decor is great. There are a couple of spaces which are semi private and looked interesting! It was reasonable value for money. West End itself is an interesting suburb and this adds something to the general ambiance. I'd say this is a good restaurant (better than average) - it is a big jump from average to very good in the classification. From the experience we had - 'good' is a good summation!

FYI, Bombay Dhaba has moved a few doors down toward the intersection of Melboune, Browning, Mollison and Boundary Streets. Scheduled to reopen on April 18 after the fire at their previous premises.

Consequently our last visit was in February; before the fire.

Sister restaurant to Bombay Bliss in Park Road, Milton but seems to be a little cheaper for some reason. Competition?

Bombay Dhaba has become a favourite with our family including 2 fussy boys 12/10.

The food is tasty, well prepared and inexpensive. There is something for most tastes. No beef....which is fair enough...it's Indian after all.

Drinks seem to crank the price up somewhat.

They often run promotions through local online discounters like spreets or living social.

They are doing a good job in a tough, competitive environment.

Worth a visit.

I loved the food, my grandmother was raised in India and they do a great job here. I was with a big group, they managed, but it was a bit mixed up...having said that, any dish that came out, someone took a hit for the team and loved the sacrifice.
