“Very glitzy foyer but nice bathrooms”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

I find the decor over the top but the room was very comfortable with a nice little kitchen, washer and dryer. The bathroom was lovely! I'm an interior designer and I love a beautiful bathroom. Compact but very nice. Service was excellent and location is great as there are so many cafes and restaurants in the development.

The Emporium is tucked away in its own little world in a part of Brisbane we rarely visit, so when a meeting we were to attend was held there it proved an excellent opportunity to stay there.

The Emporium is what I would call a boutique hotel (less than 200 rooms) but is quite perfect. The foyer in the evening with its illuminated red walls and candles on the main foyer table around the stunning floral arrangement was absolutely magic, had to take a photo of it on my phone and Facebook it immediately!

Our room was again on the small side but had everything we could possibly want and more and excellent air conditioning that responded to the controls, not always the case with hotel air conditioning. I do question how much use the washing machine, dishwasher and microwave get with so many restaurants in the precinct.

The roof top lap pool, whilst again small was beautiful with lovely sun lounges around it with curtains that could be used as dividers around them being a nice touch. The cocktail is well worth a visit, a fantastic list of different cocktails and fun funky surroundings, and the bar tender was great!

The absolute winner in my eyes for this hotel is the staff. I don't think I have ever come across such wonderfully, friendly, attentive staff; be they on reception, in the bar, housekeeping delivering my feather pillow, or simply turning our bed down. They were always ready with a smile and hello, not that we had any problems but if we had I had every confidence they would have been on top of them in no time. So well done whoever is responsible for the staff training.

A truly special experience.

We stayed for one night on business, and were able to have an early checkin to freshen up before our meeting. The staff were all very friendly and courteous, the room had everything you could want. There is a good range of restaurants within 100m. The foyer and bar have amazing decor giving a real wow factor on arrival and the rooftop pool was a bonus. The 11am check out is also a bonus.

Room Tip: We chose a standard room which was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.

The staff were amazing and even provided water in our car for our trip home.
Excellent location to explore Brisbane and close to many great cafes. Rooms were elegantly appointed and very clean.
We will be staying again in a few months.

Th Emporium Brisbane looks good on paper and certainly it is in a great location surrounded by good cafes and shops but it falls well short of a good hotel in respect to service.
My wife and I spent two nights at the hotel in February 2013.
Upon arrival at around 11am we were told that we couldn't check in as no rooms were available. This was ok and not a problem so we asked if we could change somewhere, into more casual clothes, and we were directed to the toilets on the ground floor which were not really suitable. We then asked when a room might be available and were told that reception would call my mobile immediately a room was available. After wandering around for about an hour we returned to the hotel and I asked whether a colleague and his wife had checked into the hotel. We were told that they had and that they were in their room. I then asked why they were in their room when no rooms were available and I had received no call to say rooms were now available. This produced no sensible response but within seconds my room was suddenly available!
I requested The Australian Newspaper in the morning and got the Courier Mail.
The personal hygiene of one of the staff was so bad that every time he travelled in the lift the body odour smell was unbearable.
At times it was as though you were invisible to staff and if you needed assistance you had to hunt them down.
They just don't get the "service" thing which is sad because the location is very good.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. We apologise you did not receive the true Emporium Hotel experience of an exquisite stay. Emporium Hotel prides itself on providing the highest standard of service, however on this occasion it seems we did not deliver this.

We do our very best to meet the requests for an early check-in, however when the hotels occupancy is high, we cannot guarantee a check-in before 2pm. Please be assured that all your comments will be reviewed and addressed with the relevant department managers.

As we would like to personally address your feedback and make amends, please email or call the Hotel’s Duty Manager directly.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope to welcome you back to experience an exquisite stay at Emporium Hotel.

Booked this hotel direct for few nights in Brisbane seeing some family.

Arranged a pickup from the Airport as I was coming in late night. The checkin was smooth.

Room was quite large and very comfortable. The bathroom was also very good.

The bed was a pleasure to sleep in and very comfortable.

The location is great. Surrounded by several dining options and little stores with the centre of Brisbane just a short trip away.

Highly recommended in Brisbane.

The staff at he Emporium are amazing. From the lovely cleaners to the concierge desk officers. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was very friendly. I spent some time walking the foyer with a baby and the staff kept comming up to me and asking if they could help. Great staff made for a great stay.
