It was decided that we needed a night away from reality so although we are locals we decided we would stay at the Emporium. We choose their Enchanted Evening package.
Arriving we were met by valet who took our bag to reception and parked our car. We were greeted by friendly staff and the check-in process was very simple. The staff were efficient, friendly and ensured that we were happy every step of the way. Before check in we had organised for in-room massages and also for the romantic turn-down. So when we checked in, staff confirmed the times for us.
Our suite had a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us. The room décor could only be described as contemporary elegance. The suite was of an average size, the king size bed was inviting and you could choose which pillow you wanted and could call up service to give you that pillow - they had examples of all of the pillows on offer.
The downside was there was no balcony in our room and the view of new farm and buildings wasn't the prettiest.
The bathroom was clean and although it was called a "spa" bath, the bath was quite uncomfortable. Our package included breakfast from Belle Époque French Patisserie and we could choose what we wanted but it was a bit confusing. We didn't want to ask and I do blame myself for not asking the exact procedure.
The little details were there though. Lovely toiletries, great room service, friendly staff, and the hotel even features a Cocktail Bar, Roof Top Terrace with lap pool & sauna. Downstairs there are lots of restaurants to choose from and some great little cafes.
While we went out for dinner, hotel staff did our turn down service. We came back to a candle lit room with rose petals, champagne, strawberries, chocolates and music. It was beautifully done.
Really was everything it said it would be. Well worth the expense especially for a little bit of luxury and indulgence. You know they say it's good every now and again.
