My partner and I had a short break in Brisbane for the weekend. Service was friendly and efficient. Hotel room was decent sized and comfortable, not the usual run of the mill uber modern ikea type hotel, but cosy and comfortable for a relaxing stay. It is perfectly positioned in the CBD and near public transport.

Positive: friendly helpful staff. Comfortable king size bed.
Negative: housekeeping and maintainence standards not in keeping with the 5 star (self rated) rating. Checked in and had to phone housekeeping for milk. Even though we didnt use them, we were only provided with one bathrobe and this was not rectified on the second morning. Leaking taps in shower and one hand basin. Toilet was also leaking. Windows were not as clean as they should be. Plumbing was very noisy throughout our floor and rooms had little or no soundproofing. It is very difficult to relax or sleep when you are constantly subjected to the sound of doors slamming. One elevator had broken down over the weekend so, after waiting 15 minutes for an elevator that was not full, we had to carry our luggage down 9 flights of stairs in the emergency stairwell. We paid in full, but this morning I find an extra $5.50 charge in my online statement. I'm assuming this can only be for the 3 small cartons of longlife milk that every other hotel provides at no cost. In summary I would be happy to see this hotel fully refurbished i.e. torn down and completely re-built.

Spent ten nights whilst watching cricket in Brisbane. A comfortable, quiet hotel with good sized rooms. First rate friendly service everywhere. Very close to the city centre and a short walk to a selection of quality restaurants. Hotel provides good dining facilities and has an excellent self service breakfast bar.

My partner and I stayed here for one night, booked via wotif secret deal. The room was nice, but small and old (1315 I think). The whole building is very old and needs a little work here and there. The reception area is beautiful though! But the rooms were…ehh… it had all the amenities that a 5 star property should have but it was all old and dated which didn’t make it seem like a 5 star hotel, more like 4 star. I work in the accommodation industry and there fore I am a little picky. They have a very nice BBQ area overlooking the city, pool was very dated. we did get the 13th floor so that was nice and our room was ready at 9.30 in the morning so that was a very nice bonus as check in time is normally 2pm :) all staff were very nice and friendly, food was nice, would stay for a night or 2 but not for a week long holiday.

We stayed here for one night on our return trip home. Booked via WotIf and managed to get it on a secret hotel deal.

Room was big and spacious. Clean, had 2 basins, king sized bed, flat screen. Looked great and was stylish.

Managed to get room service just before restaurant close - no problems there, and room service prices very reasonable. Food was also very very good quality. Room service breakfast the next morning was ok as well - small but good nonetheless.

Business centre was ok - a meeting room table, toilets, and 2 computers + free printer access which was useful for printing boarding passes. Internet access via registration - assuming you needed to pay to access internet.

There were only two minor downsides during our stay:

1) I was trying to organise stamps for postcards - the concierge directed me to the newsagent (in the building), but when I got to the newsagent they'd said they didn't have any and couldn't sell any as the post office was across the road and they couldn't get a license to sell stamps. I'd have thought that this should have been known by the concierge team.
2) because it's near an overpass the traffic was slightly noisy in the morning rush. Nothing too loud though so still managed to sleep in.

All in all - really happy with this hotel and would not hesitate in recommending or staying again.
