We were on our way to a lovely Italian restaurant, Corbett & Claude and dropped into this gorgeous church. It was open with beautiful stained glass panels and a beautiful garden area.

A beautiful precinct which brings calm to busy city life. The architecture and story is poignant and the Mary MacKillop Chapel is a quiet and life giving haven.

I have attended church here. The architecture is gothic and and reminds me of great ornate churches yet not too ornate.

We visited quite early in the morning but the main cathedral was already very hot. The buildings themselves are a good view into the past and the docent was very helpful. If you like churches it is worth a visit. The smaller older church is air conditioned and has an impressive wood carving of Mary

If you work in the city, are visiting or just passing by I am sure if you just walk into this church to pray, walk around or just sit there you will feel calm and melancholy and breathe easily. You you don't have to be religious to just be enthralled by the architecture and peacefulness of this place. You will feel it immediately. A great spot for everyone including those who need a break in their lunch hour or just a tourist. The effect will definitely be the same.
