“A Recent Upgrade”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

The State Library of QLD was recently upgraded, say 3 years ago or so. It is not a fully modern and fully resourced public treasure. It is a genuinely fantastic library.

“Great facility”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

I am really impressed by the facilities on the South Bank. The SLQ has wifi available all over the place, an impressive reference library, and plenty of different spaces to enjoy. A lot of good courses run from here, especially by Queensland Writers Centre. A great resource. I hope it survives Mr Newman's axe.

“A very interesting place...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2013

Totally not like any library I had ever seen... hardly a book to be seen..very high tech, comfortable, modern, and quite busy when we were there. Not my scene as I don't need to use it, but very worth while visiting just to see how a state of the art library works.

“A fantastic resource”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

Free wi-fi, millions of books on the shelves and able to be requested in, a peaceful setting and lots of space to study and learn - what more could you possibly want? The relaxing of the bag policy makes this place even easier and better to use. There are also so interesting exhibitions of historic materials on level 4 and there are regular film screenings on Sunday afternoons in addition to talks and other events through the week, all of which I attend from time to time and find enjoyable.

“Wonderful Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

We had a specific pre planned piece of research in the Oxley section of the state library. Not only is it a remarkable building but the staff were absolutely wonderful. We spent some hours with the curator and returned the following day to followup more leads. Again the staff were not 'juts public servants' they were interested, dedicated and so nice.

"Great job guys (and gals)" and we really appreciated your wonderful help.
