Owner description: The Brisbane River is perfect for adventure, leisure and recreation. Go kayaking, stand up paddleboarding or take a trip on a City Cat. Celebrate the Brisbane River at a Riverfire function or just have a picnic in the riverside parkland. The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are a great vantage point to see the Brisbane River, or go rock climbing or abseiling with Riverlife Adventure Centre. Try Story Bridge Adventure climb, cycle, rollerblade or go for a jog. Dance with the local aboriginal tribe, Mirrabooka or visit South Bank. However you look at it you can't visit Brisbane without experiencing the River. Then cruise out to Tangalooma Island Resort for a must do experience. Enjoy!

Brisbane revolves around the river and there are a number of ways of seeing it. The low cost option is the City Cat; you can buy a 2 hour ticket for around $AUD 5.20.
There is a FREE City Hopper which covers the inner city ferry stops. And then there are a number of restaurant cruises such as the Kookaburra Queen, which is a paddle steamer and probably the best known of them all.

Free ferries with cheerful staff zigzagging from one bank to the other picking up and unloading passengers along the way. Admiring homes and apartment buildings interspersed along the river banks, sailing under bridges, watching cyclists pedalling in the Botanical Gardens and people strolling along the banks of the river. The River Cat takes tourists to interesting spots as well. The river is a scenic and integral part of the city.

There are plenty of interesting and fun things to do on the river banks, plenty of, wonderful cafes and great ambiance. A great variety of leisure experiences: nature walks, swimming, partying, peaceful corners - all desires catered for well.

The best place to be on a hot day. If you have business in the city take a break at one of the many excellent restaurants by the river or simply sit and enjoy the view.
