The free breakfast for two with our room was definitely a highlight, as was the free Internet access during our stay (which should be standard policy). On a last-minute booking, we got a small one-bedroom apartment - in terms of room to spread out, you can do much better elsewhere for the same price or less. On the plus side, it was pretty nice - two leather stretch lounge chairs in the living room, along with a small table and two chairs for dining. A kitchen small enough for two to cook comfortably - just barely - and the standard pots, pans, water boiler, free tea and coffee. Bedroom was clean and comfortable. View was of the spotlit City Hall clock tower, between buildings - a surprisingly good view given we were on the 6th floor in a downtown building. In the breakfast room, there was a computer with Internet access, as well as WiFi in the room. On the down side, reception closes 7-7:30pm, so if you need a later check-in, you might run into a problem. The table with bowl of fresh fruit when you exit the elevator - as shown on one of the TripAdvisor photos - is gone, at least on our floor. The Art Deco touches throughout are pretty nice. Windows have been reinforced with double-glass, so the room was surprisingly quiet, given its streetside location. Most annoying was the in-room signage, stating a hot shower of 4 minutes or more could set off the sensitive alarm system, and that guests would be charged $600 if it did! But if you need to stay in the CBD near the train station for a night, this was a decent stay for two people comfortable with being in a tight space. There is no way you could entertain 2 guests for dinner, or be here comfortably with a rambunctious child - for us, it was fine for a night. The receptionist was businesslike and professional - wake-up call came when it was supposed to, and check-in/check-out went smoothly. Very friendly guy handling the breakfast on the 4th floor, too. Felt it was fairly priced for what you got. A fitness center - or free access to one nearby - would be a nice addition.
