Great location, but the room is not really worth the price tag. One bedroom apartment is small, they only give you four sachets of coffee, no complimentary biscuits. Good mini bar selection but my apartment had no charge list for those items.

The hotel is located 10 minutes walking from downtown. The room are big (45 m3), someones with kitchen, clean and tidy. Restaurant serves nice plates, with a bit restricted menu but the food is good quality. The only think in the room was the sink stopper in the bathroom that once you press it down, there is anything that let you bring it up to discharde the water. For all the rest, good hotel.

The South Bank branch of Mantra is an elegant hotel in the modern minimalist style. Unfortunately it takes this to an extreme forgetting that takes more than good looks and cleanliness to make a good hotel. For example, we were supplied with exactly 2 bath towels 2 washers and only just enough soap to have a shower. There was just enough room on the only showershelf for that soap and the tiny bottles of shampoo but I had to be careful because the flimsy shower shelf kept pivoting and dropping the contents to the floor. Everything seemed to be an extra: the WiFi was hideously overpriced, as were the in house TV movies, they wanted $8 for the bottle of lukewarm spring water beside the bed and I was hesitant about even making a cup of tea because no indication was given about what it may cost.
On the positive side the pool and gym were quite good but again let down by the management not supplying towels...I suppose the small room towels were supposed to fulfil that task too.
Really despite the hefty price tag it was not much better than staying in an Ibis Budget. I won't be back.

Stayed here for a night for a special night away with my fiance- stayed
Got a special deal on the Club C U soon, it was good as it included breakfast. The room was small and a bit pokey, but clean and had a pretty good view. Ideal for an overnight stay but would have been too small for more than that. No spa in the room, bathroom was basic and modern.
Staff were friendly but not overly helpful. Good for business trips as it has a desk etc.

Room Tip: Had a small room on the front of the hotel. Decent view.

The Mantra was not our first choice of hotel and we chose to stay here because it was in the location we wanted to be in. We stayed 2 nights here and were pleasantly suprised by this hotel. We arrived to be greated by very friendly staff and we impressed to be told our room was ready (prior to the 2pm check-in time). We had booked a double room but were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean and spacious. The apartment was well furnished and it even had it's own washing machine and dryer. The location is perfect for South Bank and all it has to show. The train station is literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel which makes getting to and from the airport hassle free. If it is a taxi you want there is one right outside the main door. There is a large convenient store just across the road and excellent eateries within a 2 minute walk. If we come back to Brisbane again The Mantra will be our first choice to stay.

We stayed 2 nights here recently, and were very favourably impressed.
Our room was one of the larger ones, with good sized bedroom, separate sitting room, kitchenette, and washing machine and dryer.
Well maintained, clean and comfortable. Good air conditioning. Bed firm but comfortable.
Bathroom was large, good facilities.
We did not eat on-site.
This place is right in central South Bank, so cafes, bars and restaurants everywhere.
Very convenient location, and taxi rank just outside.
Recommended.

Stayed at this Hotel last night. Hotel is in the perfect position for all the South Bank attractions, show venues and the Exhibition Centre. We stayed in a Studio Room, very good size, clean, mini bar and great bed. Check in was easy with friendly and efficient staff with nobody else waiting to check in. My wife and I were to meet some friends so I asked for my bags to be sent up. We waited 20 minutes and no bags and calls from friends asking where we were. I rang down and asked about our bags and was told "Yes sir, we will send them up right away." Another 20 minutes and we got our bags. (Normally this wouldn't be a problem but with no rush and asking for my bags to be sent up - JUST FORGOT US).
The street Bar is an excellent area to meet friends and relax whilst watching what happens in and around the Hotel.
Next morning we decided to skip breakfast and leave about 0900. Because there is no parking we had the Valet car parking ($35 per 24 hrs). It was suggested that you ring 10 to 15 minutes prior to give them time to bring your car around. This I did. Got downstairs, checked out and again only person at checkout. Waited 20 minutes (now 35 minutes) and after two people who checked out after me had got their cars I went and asked about my car. Conversation - "Yes, your car should be on the way but I will check" and away the young man went and came back a minute later and said." Sorry sir, I will go and get your car now." 7 minutes later I had my car.
Very apologetic, but again JUST FORGOT US. There must be some system somewhere in management software that will stop this happening.
I am a Rydges customer and usually stop with them across the way but because friends were here we decided to stay here. I like the Hotel and will no doubt stop again, but the staff need to value their customers.
